A Big Day For Romney (Vanity)
2/5/08 | Self

Posted on 02/05/2008 5:06:22 AM PST by Nextrush

Its a great day to vote for Mitt Romney almost everywhere.

Huckabee is strongest in Arkansas, Alabama and Oklahoma by my estimation and I guess he should win there with our votes, but not because we like him. McCain will be denied those states for media orgasms tonight.

Otherwise go Romney everywhere and anywhere today, especially in California.

If Mitt can win there it will send a message that will matter in spite of any media spin tonight.

Sadly the MSM will be Obamaizing, McCaniacking and in some cases Hillarizing the results.

Mitt can do it today if everyone gets in the game for him.

He's close in Missouri, Tennesssee and Georgia, too.

But get ready for a McCain sweep in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Delaware. McCain is leading in Arizona, but he's not much above 40 percent.

Romney is up in Utah, Colorado and Massachusetts, plus tied or leading in California.

I hope Mitt can pull it off in Montana, maybe Alaska.

Thumbs up for Mitt today.

Meanwhile, yesterday the "Wall Street Journal" published a fascinating article on the group supporting Huckabee from its Colorado Springs headquarters.

This Common Sense organization that started the "Trust Huckabee" group and website is headed by some political hack named Patrick Davis.

The story says that Davis has pictures of President Bush and Vice-President Cheney in his office. Davis also reportedly had his first political job on the campaign of George H.W. Bush.

This "Trust Huckabee" group has done dirty work to promote Huckabee and trash his opposition like Mitt Romney and McCain.

I wonder what the real story is about this group and its motivations. Who really wants to help Huckabee's campaign in this stealthy way?

My operating theory is that the GOP leadership (President and Vice-President) wants a McCain succession ironically for a continuity in foreign policy.

Guys like Mel Martinez and Tom Ridge who are real "friends" of the President are fully behind McCain.

McCain, just like Bob Dole in 1996, is the next in line.

If your scenario holds true you can expect Huckabee to drop out and throw his support to McCain after today.

I have a good feeling about Romney this morning. But it is important to not get discouraged by early results - which will likely favor McPain. Wait for those later results to come in, especially out in California.

Also remember that it is not important for Mitt to win outright tonight (though it would be nice to see). All Mitt has to do is survive Super Tuesday and remain within striking distance in the delgate count as the later primaries favor him.

I believe Mitt is surging, and not just in California. Today can be historic, like when the conservatives formed the core of the coalition that stopped amnesty.

How I came to support Mitt Romney

LOL... You know If I had to vote today I would be asking myself

What is that one signature piece of legislation that Romney signed or that one good battle he fought for Conservative Principles that makes him my man?

and then when I couldn’t find it I would reflect more on my choice and maybe reflect on how he was Pro-Choice and he did support and fight for rather liberal views as Gov of MA and how he raised taxes and then pandering for my vote called them levies or fines or whatever and I would wonder as President why wouldn’t he if it was politically expediant change his positions once again...

Once a Flip— always a Flop...

So is it Conservative Rhetoric that makes the man Conservative? Or it is actions?

and then I would get payback by aborting him..

“I have a good feeling about Romney this morning.”

_____________

So do I. Kinda like how I felt about the Giants on Sunday.

That game was a great reminder that perseverence sometimes, not always, leads to victory in spite of great odds against it. If Mitt had done anything, he has persevered in an honorable way. I think he will be rewarded.

Yeah go Mitt... soon as you get the nomination maybe you’ll go and pander to the left so you can win the general...

Maybe some on here will recognize that Conservative Rhetoric does not make a Conservative.. and then Sean and Rush will be made to eat their support for someone that is not a Proven Conservative and only pandered for political expediency..

My God that is why I hate Hillary why would I ever vote For ROmney...

First of all, I called your POST idiotic. Secondly, I never said ANYTHING about a conservative, real or otherwise, being on the ticket. My post was in reference to who I voted for this morning. So, your little tangent has nothing to do with what I said & everything to do with you adding content to something that was never stated in the first place. Capisce?

I share your optimism and dis-trust of the established GOP leadership. I hope Gov. Romney can pull it out, I have already set up a contingiency plan for myself (constitution party) that way I don’t vote for Hillary Obama or Mccain.

Naw, too busy ranging from state to state, trying to get his % up over 3-4%. Then posting dumb threads about how he's surging in conservative ranks when it doesn't happen.
