Demolition teams often drag unexploded ordinance to an empty field, yell "Fire in the hole!" and detonate.

Did they do that with this patient? If not, why not?

It was first thought he was injured from the blast. When it was discovered he was wearing the belt the area was cleared. He attempted to detonate the belt and was shot 5 or 6 times by a police officer.

Now, they have a belt to determine, how it is manufactured, the type of explosives, and all of that can be traced.

The family will most likely have their house bulldozed to the ground.

ARe you SERIOUS?

Maybe the difference is: "unexploded ordinance" usually doesn't have waving arms intent on setting off the bomb and taking everyone around him with him????

Maybe????

This policeman is one I'd love to know had MY back in a dangerous situation - instant assessment/action.

He deserves a medal.
