Today is Super-Duper Tuesday. It’s Fat Tuesday. It’s the first day of the Year of the Rat. And, apparently, it’s also Black Tuesday. Under a new moon.

If you can tie all of those omens together, you’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din.

It’s interesting that you even know all that....um how? Have you been consulting Nancy’s astrologer? LOL. (I love Nancy btw, but the astrology thing was a little wacky)

Flipping between news channels, mostly. I got tired of watching election "news" while the balloting are still open and they're not releasing exit polls, so I flipped to BBC World and CNNI. The Chinese New Year wasn't exactly a surprise. The 370-point drop in the Dow was all over both the TV and FR; and I know it's a new moon because it's darker out than usual (plus, my Dashboard widgets include both weather and moon phase).

re: shenanigans going on in West Virginia.

One of the downsides of today’s MTV approach to news, along with the complete dumbing down of the population by public schools, is that fact that today’s voters don’t realize just how shenanigans-filled American politics have always been. The stuff we see these days pale in comparison to some of the dirty tricks that were around in the early days of our great country.

In those days they obviously didn’t have the instant communications that we enjoy (?) today. A nasty, lying letter or leaflet distributed a week or ten days before an election would be impossible to refute by election day.

Today’s dirty tricks are exposed overnight for the most part. I don’t think they affect the outcome of the elections anywhere nearly as much as they make those pulling them feel like they’re “doing something!.

The powers that be that have taken over the public education system depend on a lack of an understanding of just how our system works. Part of that system has always been a knock-down, drag-out, no holds barred campaign season. Because we have so little attention span these days these things always take us by surprise and we tend to think they are new tactics.

I think today’s W VA goings-on are just one more example of how McCain will turn to an opponent or enemy and stab his allies in the back if he thinks he can improve his own lot with the tactics.

They heard about Huck winning with Mcain collusion.

Besides, I thought you hated all those evil greedy rich people, which would include anyone with money in the market.

Or are you planning to flipflop on your hate for those who produce in this country?
