The only problem was finding a place to park at the high school. I was in line for about 5 - 10 minutes and it took about a minute to vote. No real problems at all.

Well, we live in a small town so it wasn’t so bad. They asked me if I was democrat and I said ‘wash your mouth out with soap!” Nicely and with a big smile, of course. I voted for Romney and hubby voted for Huckabee (I TOLD him to vote for Romney but it didn’t work!). I’ve never missed a chance to vote.

please make sure this person registers a complaint with the nyc bd of elections,for what it’s worth which is basically zero.
we went through more stupidity than this in our polling place and also got some knowledge filing the complaint with the board...
First one to vote : machine levers won’t move to any republican name....she alerts the polling worker,is told that the machine IS set for demOcrat voting(I am not making this up) and adjusts the machine to accept her republican vote.
I ask to speak to the poll observors and was told there are NONE and the person in charge states that she was supposed to have received either a pink or green card and then been signed in to vote. I inform the man-in-charge that we are voting here for years and we’ve never ONCE had any “color coded cards” given / sent to us AND the same incident occurred in the past trying to vote either the conservative line or republican. Man tells me that IF I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM HERE,to complain to the bd of elections. My daughter was also told that not one republican vote had been cast before we arrived....
So I called in my complaint (NYC bd of elections:1-212-487-5300) and was also informed that a paper ballot was supposed to have been given....and my response was “for what ? for them to throw away ? and when will we get proper voting machines where a poll worker is not in the back adjusting the machine to pass the “bead” to the chosen “stack” and HOW would one know anyway IF THEY EVEN BOTHERED ?”
...we would be better off throwing a pebble into the candidates jar...give everyone ONE and walk them through the room quickly and ink their fingers.
i still cannot believe this but it explains WHY the levers wouldn’t move in the past and that time they went so far to tell me that i had already voted.

I was there at the crack of early to vote before work. Seemed like all the early arrivals there were (R).

While waiting for the polls to open I perused a ballot for something calling itself the "American Independent Party" and saw that one of their Presidential candidates was named "Mad Max Riekse." That was the most irregular thing all day.

Well she knows it matters not in main election we can vote for who we want to.

Sometimes it is not wise to argue but she should now change over her register to the party of her choice.

I was unable to vote today due to not being a card carrying republican,but the times the machine wouldn’t work for me as well, were presidential election 2000 and 2004. No lever under any party for bush moved...and when I stuck my head out to ask for some help here....I was told I had already voted.
It’s unreal and makes us all think that our votes literally don’t count at all.

Something else I've noticed about tonights nationwide results - Republicans take note

States that Obama has won, he won by a landslide in almost every instance.

States that Billary won: very, very close in almost every case.

If Obama is the nominee - we are in trouble.

I voted in the FL primary last week and it was instantaneous. I offered my Voter ID and Driver’s License and she said, “we don’t need this anymore,” referring to the Voter ID.

This is only interesting, to me, because I have previously had trouble getting a Republican ballot (not this time), but just had to stand fast and insist upon being handed a Republican ballot. This time, getting a Republican ballot was a breeze,they didn’t want my Voter ID showing me to be a registered Republican. Plus, the person at the desk was going to cross ‘my’ name off the list, even though he was a Democrat, has the same exact first/middle/last name as me, but lives 2 doors down. In the first place, how are they going to hand a ballot in the closed Republican primary to a Democrat? In the second place, how sad is it that I didn’t even know there’s a guy living two doors down with the same, exact name?

Two lessons, for me: Conservatives don’t complain about problems with ballots or machines; they stand their ground, politely, and make their vote count without calling a TV station; and, I need to find time to get outside of my house on my off time and introduce myself to neighbors down the street, even if they are Democrats, because it’s ridiculous that I don’t even know that somebody within a block has my exact same name!

I walked in. I showed my ID. I filled out a very brief card. I got my voting card, inserted it into the machine, voted and walked out. Total time, five minutes.

Let me tell you about our cathexis voting adventure today.
In AZ to vote in person you must have one of two things: A valid driver’s license or two forms of ID, but not credit cards — must be a water bill or electric bill, that sort of thing.

We drove to our precinct which on the paper they send to you was in Chandler where we live. We drove up and down the street and no precinct. Nada. Nothing. We drove home.

I called the precinct’s disability number and Cyber did the computer thing. The disability number asked no less than 40 questions by some subhuman computer. Press 1 for English, press 2 for Spanish, press 3 for whatever. That was the easy part. With the English, you were asked to Press 1 if you are a dem, press 2 if you are a pub, press 3 if you are a libertarian, ad naseaum. After that, there were questions on God knows what. I hung up.

Cyber in the meantime is on the computer looking up the Baptist Church where our polling place in Chandler is. There is no Baptist Church in Chandler on the street that was given to us.

I got on my computer and pulled up Chandler maps and how to get from our home to the address for the Baptist Church in Chandler. None. Then I pulled up the address on the precinct. It’s a main road through town.

Guess what? The Baptist Church was in another town, Mesa. We found it on the computer. Get in the car and drive there.

There’s more. Just keep popping that popcorn.

We get back into my SUV and drive there. No problem.

We walk into the polling place and Cyber hands the little lady his driver’s license and voting card. No good. Here in AZ your driver’s license is good for 20 years or so. Cyber had moved since his original DL, and had the new address on the back. Nope, illegal. Can’t vote even with your voter’s registration card, and as I said before, credit cards with your name on them don’t count.

Cyber doesn’t carry around electric bills and such. So there was a little problem, and more people are lining up. Cyber just told them, “I’m not going to vote.”

I voted with no problem, except now I’m PO’d. I showed the good lady my DL compared to Cyber’s DL. My DL is only seven years old. They were not going to let him vote, even with his name on the voting register. Another man called some head guy at the voting place. Nope, Cyber can’t vote.

We’re walking back to the SUV, and in the glove compartment has my insurance info. My gosh, Cyber’s name was on it, too.

We marched back in. Got to the head of the line, and Cyber finally got to vote. I’ll tell you who we didn’t vote for, that A-H McCain.

I hope your voting was easier than ours.

Montana went for Mitt, which of course is a good thing.

The local caucus, however was a disturbing affair. Half the people there were Ron Paul supporters; the other half were various precinct chiefs and elected officials, the only ones to actually vote.

There was no one to speak for McCain. Finally some one was dredged up. He really was a McCain supporter (I think), but his whole speech revolved around McCain’s failure to vote for the Bush tax cuts, McCain-Feingold, and McCain-Kennedy. The theme being that McCain stood up for what he believed no matter how much we all hated it and how wrong he might have been! Then he reminded us how McCain was likely to be our leader so we had better buck up.

As they broke for the vote, some Ron Paul took the podium and started into an antiwar screed, all about how our soldiers misdeeds had brought the wrath of the poor Islamics down on us.

I left believing we’re in for the biggest political slaughter of modern times. Once home I got a look at the Democratic turnout compared to the Republican turnout. Sad times for conservative Republicans. I’m almost glad it won’t be Mitt up there getting beaten in the general.

Yeah, I’m thinking along the same lines. Give him a few years to burnish his conservative credentials and connect with the base. If he wants it, the job will be waiting for him alongside the 2012 conservative realignment.

Pity about all the problems he’ll have to fix then, though. I suppose we deserve nothing less.

The bad thing would be two brokered conventions with the dems getting the last choice. They pick the person who out polls out person.

Nearly empty at 6 pm. Dropped off my mail-in ballot, so I was in and out in 10 seconds flat.
