How Was Your Super Tuesday Voting Experience at Your Precinct any Irregularities? (Vanity)
Feb 5, 2008

I have heard rumors across the nation that folks find broken voting Machines, or listed under the wrong party!

A friend of mind tries to vote and was told she was a Democrat so she could not vote Republican.

She said they just assume you are Democrat she lives in uptown NYC.

Sound intimidating to me

I just heard on a radio show from a caller that in Calf she was told she was sorry for got the term so she could not vote and she was a Republican.

Just wondering how was your voting in experience?

I’ve already posted that for the first time in 20 years, the election official told me I had already voted. As well, the normal voting place was moved and the new one was poorly marked. I actually drove around looking for it. Several people there, myself included, had to cast Provisional Ballots. First time in 20 years. Guess what? I didn’t vote for McCain. Not suspicious? This was obvious.

I went to vote and the poll worker asked " are you a republican ?"

I said in a confused tone "I'm not sure" and started checking my pockets........she just stared at me then looked down at the rolls.....then I said " I'm not sure what that means anymore ! "

They all laughed so hard I thought they would fall out of there chairs

one older lady had to leave the garage she laughed so hard

nobody asked for ID, I could have been a space alien

There were a lot of issues at my precinct. The two workers dealing with the IDs and ballots were clearly unable to do their jobs. They couldn’t find names even though they were on the list. (One black guy got rather upset over the worker having a hard time finding his name). They didn’t know how to do provisional ballots. The worker with the ballots was not properly checking with the lady who had the list, so you could get either a Dem or Repub ballot just by asking. (That’s not the way it’s supposed to work in this state.)

Oh, and the reason I was able to see all of this was because it took me over an hour to vote. They were so slow at doing their jobs that about a person was voting per minute and there were over 100 people in line after I was done voting at noon.

I put my ballot in the mailbox last week. The hinge worked fine and gravity happened.

..most annoying thing...avoiding some old lady coming out “entrance” driveway and watching her reenter parking lot via “exit” at about 30mph....I parked far end of lot.
The whole experience lasted 5 minutes, avoidance, parked, walked in,signed in,pushed candidate, pushed vote,..left comment with poll worker..”that was really difficult” (drew laughter)..walked out..this was at 9am. no lines

I voted in Northern California. They asked if I was Republican (to confirm their records) and I said yes. Some other pollworker said, “Wow, that’s the second on in an hour.”

My voting went fine but my daughter went to the polling place on her sample ballot and found it locked, empty with no notes or anything to tell her where to go. The school was having roof work done. After some telephone calls, she found the new polling place and was told there she should have received a letter informing her of the new location. She doesn’t recall getting it but it could have come. Might lose some voters that way. Daughter is a registered Republican. Location: Central Valley, California

Hubby and I went to vote after hubby got home from work. It took us almost two hours from the time we walked in the building. Our county chose an Indian reservation casino building as the polling place for our area. So we weren’t even voting on US soil. To make matters worse, we walked into the building into a hallway crammed like sardines into one line that became two lines at some mysterious point we could not see. The hallway was about five feet across. I’m not sure how deep the hallway was (not good at judging distances), but it had a 90degree turn at the end. (It was an L-shaped hall.) There were about 150 people crammed into this small space with one exit which also happened to be the entrance. There were no windows except for the door that let us in. All of the doors were locked, so if there had been a fire, anyone at the end of the “L” would have been in trouble. The voting room was right by the entry, but you had to wait in the snakey line for two hours before you could sign in. I’m doing a horrible job describing this, of course. Hubby would do better, but he’s sleeping. He HATES to be in crowds. When we were fairly close to the end of the line, hubby was ticked off enough to call and complain to someone who might have been able to put a stop to the insanity. It would have been far safer to have the line outside. Meanwhile, our friend’s husband called us back to sympathise and to inform us how the state of AZ mandated that precincts be cut in half for the primaries. I’m not sure if that meant cut in half staffwise or room size or what. He also said, “I know what your real problem is. Y’all are the only two Republicans in the room . . .” He’s also a Republican among an area that is dominated by Democrats. Hubby estimated that there were about 30% Republicans voting at our precinct. Anywho, we voted. We will voice our opposition to the procedure and lack of safety concerns at our precinct. And our candidate will lose. But at least we were able to vote.

Filled out the ballot, put it in the machine, end of transaction.

There were some Hillary supporters I wanted to flip off, but I didn’t.
