"He just told Laura Ingraham he won't vote for McCain in the general election."

Dobson transcript here: http://race42008.com/2008/02/05/breaking-dobson-slams-mccain-on-ingraham/
A whole list of “sister souljas” is emerging that McCain can show independents and moderates that he is not like the extreme right wing because they hate him so much.
The barrage that is in store for him from the clintons will not be viewed as Swiftboating but mearly informing the American public, a snowball in hell has a better chance of not melting than Mccain of becoming President.
I lost respect for Dobson when he weighed in early about Fred’s supposed non-Christianity. Back then he gave his list of who he wouldn’t vote for and I see is still knocking them out. Dobson should stick to what he is good at. When he leaves his comfort zone he screws things up.
McCain won't support conservative causes. Why on Earth should conservatives feel obligated to support that liberal with an 'R' by his name?
I don’t care for Dobson, but why the heck didn’t he say this a week or 2 ago??
And why the heck didn’t Rush come out for Romney a week or 2 ago??
Why did so many influencial conservatives wait until the last minute?
Dobson is stupid.
Maybe this is shock and awe and then in the end somehow they do get out and hold their nose and vote for him..
Maybe they square it with the inevitable SCOTUS turnovers i.e., Roberts health, Stevens age... Who knows..
Dobson can ill afford a very liberal Court.. The Homosexual agenda and Code Pink are primed for a full assault to make their views law...not to mention the slippery slope of the Science of Cloning and the creation of life and the removal of any mention of God from the public square. A liberal win will mean a full assault by the culture demons.
and they will succeed, Especially if they are working with a friendly Congress and a WH...
How could he live with himself if he didn’t try .. knowing that out of power you have no control at all and in power you do have influence and a stronger voice.
Inevitably he has to answer to a higher power, as do we all on what we did to stop the murder of the innocent and the destruction of family values so I hope he can answer with a clear conscious.
If he doesn’t vote for McCain and if he leads others to not vote for McCain then he and they must accept responsibility for a Hillary presidency and resultant loss of the small conservative edge in the USSC. Welcome back USSC socialism.
Can anyone name a single "extreme right wing" Presidential candidate who has ever ocupied the White House? I can't think of any, and for good reason. I wouldn't want an extreme right winger elected. I want a conservative elected, and those two things are not the same.
I will be glad if McCain can show that the Republican party is not filled with extremists. I hope (against hope) that he will track some to the right, and select a real conservative to show his acceptance of the conservatives in the party (someone like Michael Steele perhaps).
IMO he has already shown that he can attract some conservatives just by getting as far as he has gotten, but he will need more conservatives (as well as moderates, independents, and Reagan Democrates) to get elected in November. He can do it, but it won't be easy.
Dodson would not have supported Lincoln.
Although Lincoln was personally opposed to slavery, he did not initially take the position that it was appropriate that federal laws be passed to abolish the practice in states where it already existed.
Though he strongly condemned any extension of slavery, he was still willing to tolerate even that to preserve the Union.
Once again, “willing to tolerate (slavery) even that to preserve the Union.”
There was someone who wrote that we need an 80% solution.
I wish I could find it.
Rush was equivocating about how he would vote yesterday. I’m not.
I won’t vote for McCain.
This philosophy is a little like saying, “I’m willing to take two steps back, if that gives me the ability to take one step forward.” A small net gain forward that can be built upon in the future is much better than giant steps back.
It's the "evangelical" Christians showing their redneck hatred for Mormonism. I think Huckleberry and his ilk have handed the nomination to McInsane. It's really too bad that conservatives couldn't have rallied behind Romney, he'd have made a great President. If McInsane or Hillary Clinton or Hussein Obama are indeed the best we can select to lead us, then we deserve exactly what we get. There are so many pissed off, "fractured" Republicans now that I look for a landslide on the Democrat ticket. McInsane will not be able to defeat his opponent.
We will not vote for McCain in any election.
“I lost respect for Dobson “
So did I, he’s part of the reason we’re in this mess.
One of the few times I have agreed with Dobson
I agree, When the press and the Dems get done pushing McCains hot buttons he’ll be completely unelectable. If McCain’s as explosive as some insiders say it will come out. I doubt he wins one state in the general
