First time in 35-Year History CPAC Hosts Both Officeholders

ALEXANDRIA, VA – The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the nation's oldest and largest annual gathering of conservative activists, students and policymakers, announced that President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney will address conference attendees at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC.

This is the first time in the event’s 35-year history that both the sitting President and Vice President have addressed the attendees.

Vice President Cheney will speak on Thursday, February 7 at 11:00 a.m.

President Bush will speak on Friday, February 8 at 10:20 a.m.

CPAC Chairman David A. Keene said, “We are delighted that conservatives will have the opportunity to welcome both President Bush and Vice President Cheney this year. It will be a great opportunity for thousands of conservatives, particularly the large number of students from across the country who attend, to hear from the president in person and evaluate the accomplishments of his administration.”

CPAC is a project of the American Conservative Union Foundation, in association with Young America's Foundation and Human Events. The conference is cosponsored by over 90 of the nation's leading conservative organizations. For continued updates on the program or to register online, visit www.cpac.org.

Look at how the AP is manipulating
and spinning the truth:

http://apnews.myway.com/article/20080206/D8UKL5J81.html

John McCain’s string of cross-country victories made him all but unstoppable - and proved his appeal across a broad swath of the Republican Party.

The Arizona senator was racking up enough convention delegates in Super Tuesday’s coast-to-coast voting to put him within reach of the coveted GOP presidential nomination that eluded him eight years ago. Mitt Romney faced a decision of whether to stretch out the bruising race for another few weeks while Mike Huckabee competed for - and in some ways found - relevancy.

Any American voter who counts exclusively on the
MSM for the truth is being seriously misguided
and misinformed .. and purposely so.

‘...I don’t give a hoot what he says...’

I find it amazing how all the TV “pundits” keep asking, what can McCain SAY to bring conservatives to his side.
He can SAY whatever he chooses and will, most likely, SAY what he believes conservatives would like to hear. HOWEVER, ACTIONS speak louder than words and McCains past ACTIONS do not sit favorably with many who are concerned about AMERICA. Why should we trust that McCain will DO what he SAYS??

Thanks, President Bush, for helping to destroy both the Republican Party and U.S. conservatism, and thanks for your help in this country’s continuing move towards long-term socialism! Grrr!

McCain's campaign website is saying that he is speaking at 2:30pm.

I don't know why his website would be telling folks that he is speaking a half-hour earlier than CPAC is saying.

It wouldn't be so that his Liberal RINO supporters will be there early enough to pack the room, would it?

You at the conference? I am here in DC and looking forward to tomorrow’s events. I am wondering how early I need to get in line to hear Mr Cheney though. A few years ago when he spoke in the afternoon the security line went on for miles. Many people did not get in.

That is too funny.

I've got to tell you...as if last night's info wasn't bad enough, my Mom was in a car accident.

She's okay, but banged up pretty bad. On Thursday, she went to start her car in the garage, and it wouldn't turn over. Long story short, she had it towed to her regular car fixing place, and they said it was an electrical problem, and so she had to have the car towed to a place in Honolulu. The car was ready to pick up, and she took a cab all the way out there to retrieve it. She was on her way home, it's been really raining there, and she thought she saw something in the road. She swerved to avoid it, and ended up running into a rock wall. By the time the EMS guys got there, tourists at the Pali Lookout had to pulled her out of the car, because it was on fire--the ER nurse told me it "exploded" and that it was a pretty serious accident. Her purse went up in flames.

As far as injuries, she has a lower lumbar spine fracture, a broken right wrist, broken nose, orbital eye fractures and various lacerations on her face. They stitched up one or two of the facial wounds.

Today, at 1:20 PM Hawaii time (3:20 PM PT), she'll be in surgery to fix her wrist. Last night the doctor called and asked for permission to operate, and told me they would most likely be making a small incision to put a small plate and a couple of screws on that broken bone. It's the bigger bone that ends right before your arm turns into your wrist.

The ER nurse also said that she'll be able to walk again, but would most likely have to wear a torso brace for a while to support that fractured spinal bone.

The spinal doctor is a whole different thing, and I'm hoping that they are waiting until 1:20 PM because they want all doctors (eye, nose, hand, and spine) in on the one surgery, if they can.

I spoke with her last night, and she was in good spirits, and very clear headed. SHE REMEMBERED MY E-MAIL ADDRESS and told them to e-mail me, because she didn't remember my number--she always uses the speed dial function. Can you believe it??? I'm shocked and proud all at the same time.

I spoke with her this morning---she's very tired.

I'll be there to see her on Sunday, Feb. 10th. That will be just about the time when she would be moved to a rehab/convalescent home to recover and get therapy, I'm thinking--the best time for someone to be near.

The guy who does her lawn saw the story on TV and called and told me about it. I called the TV station and got the script. Here's what it said:

POOR VISIBILITY IS BEING BLAMED FOR CAUSING A CRASH ON OLD PALI ROAD. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE AFTER SMASHING INTO A ROCK WALL. SEVERAL VISITORS AT THE PALI LOOKOUT HELPED TO PULL THE WOMAN DRIVER OUT OF THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS TAKEN TO _______(hospital), AND IS IN STABLE CONDITION.

Thank you in advance, for your prayers and well wishes.

Ugh ... we can’t let the Clintons back in the White House. We just can’t. A THIRD term for Bill Clinton? It’s insane.
