Oh, well, drumming up anti-Japanese feelings is politically useful to Chinese regime from time to time. However, they also have to sell products to Japan, and need Japanese investment.
If this allegation turns out to be true, Chinese regime is experiencing its home-grown blowback from their propaganda campaign.

Man, I remember one time that happened to me. I went to that Vietnamese Grocery store behind my house, and bought a bunch of different kinds of dumplings, steamed 'em up and then the next thing I know, I thought I was gonna pass out or vomit or both.
Turns out it was just a mother-load of MSG that the Western body can't metabolize. Now I know to check for that.

I rather suspect that this might be a case of a Japanese saboteur drumming up "you can't trust those nefarious Chinese" among his countrymen to keep the people afraid and the nativist LDP in power.
