McCain can use the Horace Wessell song the Nazi’s used to play. That fits him.

A sample of Mellencamps anti American tripe:

“...a simple man baby pays his bills...bill...bills...that kill...”

As a musician I respect Mellencamps position. They are his songs. If he doesn’t want them associated with McCain that should be his call. Right or wrong, it should be his call.

Not that I care, but McCain’s campaign could pay the publisher royalties and play the music anyway and there would be nothing Mellencamp could do about it. But why give even him the publicity?

If I were advising the McCain campaign, I would tell them to play the “Theme From The Titanic”.

My questions are:

#1 How would anyone know unless they were there?

#2 Why should anyone care to report on it?

#3 How is it important?

#4 Who listens to his crap anyway?

#5 Why not just have a Mariachi band???

Reminds me of when Bruce Springteen did not like Ronald Reagan playing one of his songs in 1984. Maybe NcCain could pick a Toby Keith song.

I wish ford would stop playing his song in its ads. I’m so sick of it.

LOL! That would be so appropriate! There could also be a Corona beer logo hanging behind him during all his speeches.

“Hail to the Chief”, played by a mariachi band. Love it!

As for John “Castrated Cougar” Mellencamp, he can go jump in a lake. His music sucks.

Hey Mellonhead, playing your song doesn’t mean he has your endorsement. What a moron!!

He got his panties all atwitter a few years ago over some other Republican using his songs. As did Bruce Springsteen with Reagan.

I've always been under the impression that popular music can be used by anyone (barring illegal activities, etc.), provided the appropriate royalties are paid. Any lawyers here who can clarify this?

A member of Johnny Jerk's band is a friend of mine.
He refuses to (publicly) comment on John, but in private....He would lean more towards our opinion, I think, lol! But he knows who butters his bread, so he keeps his mouth shut.

The reason you don't have a Marachi band is because none of them have had a top single that people have bought a bunch of records of. :)

Throw a few dollars at ASCAP and tell Mellencamp to STFU.
