The corner at National Review ^
Posted on 02/09/2008 7:59:40 PM PST by byteback
"John McCain was very active and supportive during my confirmation hearings to be the U.S. Ambassador to the UN. His belief in me at that time was a testament to his courage to fight the liberals in the Senate and vigorously advance American interests at the UN.
"I whole-heartedly endorse John McCain for President because when he takes office in January 2009 he will be prepared immediately to lead us. John will not need on the job training.
"American conservatives will have a President they can be proud of in John McCain."

It’s just sort of interesting watching some of the conservative icons, those who could do no wrong, now supporting McCain.

“McCain has enough endorsements from people living inside the beltway, right now some votes from people living in Kansas, Louisiana, and Washington would do him more good.”
Well he did get a lot from people living in California last Tuesday.

Umm, Soros has also given money and support to John McCain, at least during the ongoing primaries.

I care too much about the troops to sit back and let the country elect someone who would put them under UN control. There is politics and then there are lives at stake.

"John McCain was very active and supportive during my confirmation hearings to be the U.S. Ambassador to the UN. His belief in me at that time was a testament to his courage to fight the liberals in the Senate and vigorously advance American interests at the UN." So McCain knows how to call in his chits...I really like Bolton, and he has stood strong for the US in an adversarial environment. Nonetheless, I disagree with him on this matter.

I hate to predict things on this board. Why? Because they always come true.
We are going to end up voting for either a liberal RINO, or a Marxist.
There, I said it.
Sheesh.

I'm waffling...I'm waffling...nope...so far I'm still not on the bandwagon. The only thing that might help would be considering the possibilty of a CONSERVATIVE >NOT< RINO REPUBLICAN congress beating the cr@p outta McCain.
Nope I cna't vote for McCain.

What you are seeing is the permanent Washington political insiders’ guild position for their next government jobs.
There is a permanent ruling class in Washington, split into Democrat and Republican tribes, that just take turns running the country. When out of power, they enter holding patterns in the various think tanks and lobby groups.
They are totally detached from you and I and the problems we face every day. That is why they are not troubled by immigration, taxes and runaway spending, layoffs, fighting the war, health care, whatever.
They got theirs. Too bad if you got problems - just shut up and vote for the guy in their ranks they set up as the candidate, and send your money to them.

I dont see a large difference between McCain and Bush.
I will back McCain "for the troops"
I will wince with pain, voting for McCain
....but it is the best choice I can make to support the fighting men over there and protect the nation.
