Ron Paul's Legacy: The Well Being of the Constitution

I worry about my country. I think the Constitution is hanging by a thin thread. I think by the time Congress and Bush and McCain get done, we will have totally open borders, no immigration laws being followed and tax burdens that will break us all. I believe that the National ID will put us under the thumb of the government to the point of us all becoming criminals in the eyes of the powers that be.

I see guns available only for the criminals, but law abiding citizens will not be able to own them. I see colleges that are unable and unwilling to teach our kids anything but the liberal/socialistic/dare I say Communist way of thinking.

I see Ron Paul, fighting for America and the Constitution to the bitter end. Within ten years, I see Ron Paul's speeches being listened to by people that were to young or too deaf to hear them before. It's this legacy that Ron Paul will always be remembered for.

I have tried to remember which other "conservative" candidates have stood firmly and openly on the constitution. Is Ron Paul the only one?

Ron Paul's legacy will be his suicidal foreign policy stance.

He will also be remembered for associating with lunatic political fringe groups and individuals.

He is pretty much a loner amoung the “finalists” with maybe some commentary from Fred. The last thing Washington is worried about is the Constitution, and the liberal socialists have it targeted for destruction since it is an obstacle (the only obstacle) to their socialist agenda.

The last thread snapped in 1932, with FDR’s election, alas.

In six months no one will remember wRong Paul. Doubly so if he loses his Congressional seat.

Who cares about the Constitution when the government is passing out money?

Aren’t the only people who support the Constitution either troofers, KKK, skinheads, Birchers, anti-Semites, or pro-Islamofascists?

Just wait until Hillary’s judges find “hate speech” laws constitutional.

Centrist authoritarians like John McCain and leftist authoritarians like Clinton and Obama are going to take away what little of my liberty that still remains. If it continues, at some point this country will not be worth defending.

The nation is lost I believe. because it has fallen into socialism and its not getting out of it. When the people know they can vote their way into other peoples pockets then its probably too late.

Yes, when socialism reared its ugly head, the Constitution became an obstacle, not an asset, to the left.

No these people are Ron Paul fans because they see the opportunistic chaos that would take place when an anarchist...excuse me, libertarian such as Ron Paul would countrol the US Government.

Of course, recognizing interlopers is not an art, just simple observation.

Then, from my perspective, that would be a terrible loss. We need people that actually BELIEVE in the Constitution. When the last bit of it is shredded..I am sure you will be one of the howlers..and there will be a lot of us. But it will be too late then.

Re: Ron Paul being the only one ...

Not at all ... there will be thousands of us wandering in the wilderness, trying to evade the police state.

In fact many of us are doing that right now.

true. I know I’ll get flamed for this but that’s ok. Ron Paul is going by the constitution even with his foreign policy. The problem lies in us, not him. WE as a people (sheeple)have let our politicians on BOTH sides of the isle get away with usurping the constitution for so long that on the defense side of it there seems to be no going back now. But make no mistake about it. Rip a constitutionalist all you want...it’s still the people’s fault for letting our so called leaders get away with their dealings in other countries business. I agree with Paul on just about everything...but the defence thing is a huge issue now. So what can we do? I don’t know.

I’m asking (see post #1) who else quotes the Constitution besides Ron Paul? Geez..spin it.

Perhaps you’ll wish he was still around someday. I doubt his country club Republican opponent in the primary would lift a finger to defend anything of value to you.
