HUCK LIKENS MCCAIN TO FORD '76
MSNBC ^ | 2/11/08 | Matt Berger

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Huckabee suggested the Republican Party could meet the same fate as 1976 if it elected a moderate candidate who does not inspire voters.

Speaking at a press conference after addressing Thomas Road Baptist Church, Huckabee continued to compare himself to Ronald Reagan, who ran in 1976 against the party establishment, which led to a floor fight at the national convention. When reminded that the Republicans lost the 1976, Huckabee said it wasn’t because the party was divided, but because Gerald Ford did not energize the party.

“He never championed himself as a conservative, not a pro-life person for whom that was important,” Huckabee said. “He was a really nice moderate Republican, a true gentleman. But a member of Congress and more a part of the Washington Republican establishment than representing the grassroots of conservatism.”

And in a thinly veiled reference to McCain, Huckabee went on to say Republicans could lose again with a similar candidate.

“I would argue that if we do not have a candidate who can excite the base of this country, and particularly the base of our party and make them energetic and going out and getting the folks to put the yard signs in and making phone calls and traveling all over the country asking people to vote, we can lose again,” he said.

Standing with Jerry Falwell Jr., the chancellor and president of Liberty University, Huckabee acknowledged that he was surprised by his success on Saturday.

“Quite frankly we were very surprised,” Huckabee said. “And we weren't confident of anything like that kind of victory in Kansas. We felt we were doing well in Kansas and I thought we would win Kansas. I thought it would be close.”

I would like to add that one of McCain’s staff members “Warren Rudman” was critical in the selection of Justice David Souter. So says Rush Limbaugh. Rudman and John Sununu, President George H. W. Bush former Chief of staff.

Rudman hired Souter to be his assistant AG for six years. There were very close. Rudman knew Souter was be a reliable pro-abortion vote and told Democratic Senators that. He told Bush on the other hand that Souter was a solid conservative. Rudman was the snake of the lowest kind.

Form was like McCain in his liberal politics.

Ford is nothing like McCain on the decency side of his personality. Gerald ford was a great man. Very kinda and had not ill will towards anybody.

The same can never be said of Johnny McCain. He is a rude, antagonist, foul mouthed person. He hold comtempt for any who disagee with him.

"McCain won’t win. A nomination for him will get us a Dem president."

Probably.

This is what I've been saying for months, and could still work that way, however, since the dems are doing their level best at nominating a loser as well, this could turn out to be "The Year Of The Loser".

Despite all their "best efforts" our next president will be the one who lost the worst.

You think?

Did Huck draft an anti-constitutional “campaign finance reform’ law?

Huck has an A from the Gun Owners of America, McCain has an F

McCain’s pro-life record is very spotty. Huck’s is perfect.

McCain is a cheerleader for signing away sovereignty via the LOST debacle. Huck is adamamently opposed.

McCain has supported affirmative action. Huck has always opposed it.

McCain voted against the marriage amendment. Huck is 100% in favor.

McCain voted against BOTH Bush tax cuts. Huckabee promoted them.

McCain still wants amnesty. Huckabee has vowed never to allow it (despite both having awful records on the subject).

McCain has been supporting the Bush plan on Israel. Huck rejects it.

McCain prostrates himself to the chicoms more than any candidate except Romney.

In my opinion, Huckabee is more akin to George Wallace than Ronald Reagan.

All I hope is that Huck and Paul can keep McCain away from 1100 delegates.

..whatever one might think of Huck--at least he's on record concerning The Fence...

The Secure America Plan

A 9-Point Strategy for Immigration Enforcement and Border Security

Overview: Implement a broad-based strategy that commits the resources of the federal government to the enforcement of our immigration laws and results in the attrition of the illegal immigrant population.

1. Build the Fence

2. Increase Border Patrol

3. Prevent Amnesty

4. Enforce the Law on Employers

  5.  Establish an Economic Border

 6.  Empower Local Authorities

7. Ensure Document Security

8. Discourage Dual Citizenship

9. Modernize the Process of Legal Immigration

*This policy will be drafted to comply with the final federal court decisions on this issue.

Note: This plan is partially modeled on a proposal by Mark Krikorian, Executive Director of the Center for Immigration Studies. ("Re: Immigration: Ten Points for a Successful Presidential Candidate," National Review, May 23, 2005.)

Make no mistake I am not for either one of these posers and will vote 3rd or write-in.

Huck is favor of expanding government just like he did in Arkansas. Huck mouths a pro gun stance while doing nothing to protect the rights. “I am hunter blah blah...” don’t cut it. Huck raised taxes in Arkansas. Huck is for passing nanny state laws like the smoking restrictions. Amnesty IMO is more of an issue right now than abortion, if we lose autonomy everything is moot. Huck sucks on immigration he is from the home of Tyson one of the largest illegal employers under Huck’s watchful eye. We have no right dictating anything one way or the other to Israel only support their decision.

I would think that a Hunter-aniac would oppose anyone like that, oh wait Hunter drank some kool-aid and endorsed him I forgot.

I’m not even close to being a Huck fan. He is as shameless a pandering politician as I’ve ever seen. That being said, if he can screw things up for McQueeg, it will be wonderful.

Thanks, Huck! I knew it was in you. Keep punching away, as it ensures you will never be Veep.

Now this is why he’s staying in.

If McCain is Ford, then Huck, as last man standing until the convention, must be Reagan.

Sorry Huck, not buying it.
