Okay... that’s five threads now.
Will you spam more, or are you done?
All these people I looked up to because they exhibited conservative traits, and now this. Wow...
Yep. We've endured 8 years of solid disappointment with this crowd. Now I know what it feels like to be a Cubs fan.
With McCain all thing are also possible. That’s the problem.
;-)
Your comment on Hutchinson's action re the border is especially salient at this time. I'd wager that what motivated so many conservatives to rebel against the Bush-McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill last summer is the same thing motivating them to give the GOP establishment the one-fingered salute with regard to having McCain as the GOP nominee: plain old-fashioned distrust. Just as the GOP bigwigs have proved that we peons were correct not to trust them with regard to immigration reform (amnesty) last summer, we're right again when we refuse to support a RINO, closet Democrat, for the Presidency.
I’m not sure I agree with your plan, If we keep falling behind these leftist Republicans, the country club Republicans will think they can keep cramming this type candidate down our throats, and we will keep accepting them.
An elected official of no integrity endorsing another official with no integrity. Surprise, surprise!
You’re probably happy with Sen. Smith then?
4. Tax Cut Rules S Con Res 83 (Roll Call 38) The Senate defeated a change in its rules that would have required a 60-vote majority to cut taxes in the future. ACU opposed this rules change, which was defeated on a 50-50 vote on March 14, 2006.
McCain voted to need 60 votes to cut taxes.
12. Immigration OverhaulSocial Security Credit S 2611 (Roll Call 130) The Senate killed an amendment barring illegal immigrants currently in the country from claiming Social Security credits for work done in years before they are assigned a valid Social Security number. ACU supported the amendment, which was killed by a vote of 50-49 on May 18, 2006.
McCain voted to let them keep their illegal credits.
15. Same-Sex Marriage Ban Constitutional Amendment S J Res. 1 (Roll Call 163) The Senate defeated a motion to end a filibuster against a constitutional amendment defining marriage as consisting only of the union of a man and a woman. ACU supported the constitutional amendment and thus supported this motion, which got a majority of the votes, but failed because 60 votes are required to end a filibuster. The vote was 49-48 on June 7, 2006.
McCain voted to not to not end the filibuster
22. Border Fencing HR 5441 (Roll Call 200) The Senate rejected an amendment providing for the construction of 370 miles of double-layered fencing and at least 461 miles of vehicle barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border. ACU supported the amendment, which failed 29-71 on July 13, 2006.
McCain voted against the border fence.
23. Embryonic Stem Cell Research HR 810 (Roll Call 206) The Senate passed a bill allowing the use of federal funds in research on embryonic stem cells. ACU opposed this legislation, which passed by a vote of 63-37 on July 18, 2006.
McCain voted for embryonic stem cell research.
No, it’s not the country club ramming liberals down our throats, it is the malinformed Republican primary voters!
Frankly, having not paid much attention to politics for many years, the more I look into it, the more shocked and disappointed I become. The lack of integrity is legion. The only thing new is that there no longer is any shame.
If Hucakbee wins everything else, wouldn’t it behoove McCain to make him VP?
Hutchison would win less votes for McCain as VP than Liddy Dole and I like Dole better.
Eight now, and counting.
Oh well.
If you would have told me that McCain would be our standard bearer after the decade he just turned in, I would have said you most likely had a screw loose.
Here we are...
Now folks are holding him up as the second coming and I need to lay in about ten cases of bromo.
Figures.
I'm looking for something a whole lot stronger. ;-)
Yes it is the uninformed voters. However the McCain campaign was out of funds late in November, the funding for the reserection came from somewhere other than the voters.
