WASHINGTON — Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas has endorsed presidential Republican candidate John McCain.
Hutchison was to officially announce her endorsement Monday afternoon. Her office said she also plans to campaign with McCain in Texas before the state's March 4 primary.
Hutchison has been considered a possible vice presidential candidate. She has said she's not seeking the job but wouldn't turn it down if the party's nominee asked her to join the ticket.
Hutchison is the only woman in Senate Republican leadership. Her presence on the ticket could help Republicans offset Hillary Rodham Clinton if she is the Democrat's presidential nominee.
McCain, an Arizona senator, is all but assured of winning his party's primary.
No shocked at all that Hutchinson endorses McCain. We’ve had to tow her back in line (with conservatvies) a number of times.

Famous for doing MxCain’s and W’s bidding by removing the funding for the fence from the omnibus spending bill passed by congress over the holiday break. I’ve got a few choice words for her that I can’t repeat here on FR.
Kay and Babs Boxer and Diane Feinstein are bfs and have even lobbied together on “women’s issues.” Texas would be happy to palm her off as the Veep nominee.
I’m taking a big interest in what political figures are claiming McCain is a conservative. This is a bellweather moment IMO.
I’m not in Texas, but I thought I read somewhere that Kay Bailey Hutchison was not going to run for another term.
That will need to confirmed, though.

Whoa, now ain’t that a surprise. I have been laughing tonight how all the talking heads say we are all getting behind McCain.
What a joke. I am not planning on voting for this Juan Hernandez Republican, Juan McCain.
McCain is a joke because the GOP wants to lose, so I will oblige them.
The old gaurd is backing McCain, I realy don’t know what the alternative is, well, there isn’t one, thats evident.
Is this not the same Kay Bailey Hutchison who deleted funds for actually building the border fence? One who talks the talk but does not walk the walk? She has ZERO credibility with me because of that and its implied lack of integrity.
