Your voting for Delegates could play a crucial role in conventions

Never before have I had to stop and think during voting! But today some of the delegates I would have voted for belonged to McCain, so I had to stand there and think if this could become a brokered convention, what difference could all of this play out to for the chance of getting someone else elected. PLEASE THINK TODAY during your voting for delegates and alternate delegates how this could make a difference in your CONSERVATIVE future.

I voted for Romeny, 3 of Romney’s delegates and the 3 alternative Romeny delegates today here in MD.

Good point - I voted for Hunter here in Maryland and went with Fred’s slate of delegates figuring it was the best option available.

However, under Maryland party rules:

(b) All of the remaining delegates to the 2008 Republican National Convention shall be bound to vote for the candidate for the office of President of the
United State who receives the highest number of votes in the State of Maryland in the 2008 Maryland Republican Primary Election.

(c) The delegate shall be so bound until the candidate for President of the United States is nominated by the 2008 Republican National Convention, receives less than 35 percent of the votes for nomination by the Convention, or
releases the delegate, or until two Convention nominating ballots have been taken.

So, it’s a long-shot this could come into play, but worth a thought.

I voted in the VA Primary today. I decided yesterday to vote for Huckabee. I planned to vote for Mitt but feared if I voted for a candidate who dropped out my vote wouldn't count. My objective is to stop McCain. When I got to the machine though I was stuck. All GOP candidates were still on the ballot and I was sorely tempted to vote for Fred but then I came to my senses. McCain is where he is today because conservatives have been split since day one...McCain could get 27% of the vote and win because everyone else was fighting over the real Republican voters and McCain was sopping up the moderates and independents. No more. It's now a 2 man race and I voted for Huckabee (I stood at the machine in thought for about 5 minutes before I actually cast my vote though...first time that's EVER happened to me).

Huckabee has stayed in the race...he's changed some of his positions and added a little nuance to others. I don't like the way he used religion against Mitt but I do admire the way he is unapologetic about his Christian beliefs. He's not my first choice, or my second choice or even my third choice but I voted for him and I can live with that. I even hope he wins today.
