I think they shut the Skyway down at the 40 mph wind threshold. My kid drives to Tampa every day for college...sometimes the Howard can get water up onto the approaches...we’ll have to check in the AM to see what the commute’s like.

Was there when it opened in ‘59. We were the first integrated high school in Pinellas. Everybody got along. Our head cheerleader my Senior year was Black, from the Islands.

Then about 5 years later, it all blew up!

I graduated before Charlie...I do know folks that were there at the same time he was. A guy that was a year behind me became involved in state politics (Dem)...but I’m not sure what he’s doing now...Peter Wallace...remember him?
