WASHINGTON (AP) --

Barack Obama has won Virginia's Democratic primary, defeating Hillary Rodham Clinton.

Obama is also hoping to capture first place in Tuesday's Democratic primaries in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

Republicans are voting, too, and it looks like Mike Huckabee is making an unexpectedly strong challenge to John McCain in Virginia.

The Associated Press made its Democratic call based on surveys of voters as they left the polls.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP's earlier story is below.

Yeah, watching on CNN. Looks like Obama is taking majorities in Blacks (90/10) AND Women (60/40), about even in the White Vote (48/52) and is also taking more of those who think the Economy is the most important issue.

Look for the Clinton Ops Dept. to go into full swing sooner rather than later. This is general Quarters.

Not only is Obama going to beat Hillary in all the Potomac primaries, it appears he's going to crush her. The more people see him, the more they like him, and just the opposite for her.

And Virginia and Maryland aren't podunk little states either. For the first time, I'm starting to think she's really in big trouble.

Huckabee still doesn't stand a prayer of nailing down enough delegates to get the nomination...

Glenn Beck just said on CNN that March 4 could be her swansong.

McLame is sorry also. That old fart is going to look 100 when they have their debates. Only the pubbie party can screw things up as bad as they do. Way to go republican voters. You have decided having another RINO is the answer. A 40 state win for nobody Hussein.

I feel sorry for Huma, who’ll be called back to Saudi Arabia and put into a burkha, not having completely succeeded with her mission!
