As usual, a satirical remark about liberals/marxists/etc. is a little too close to the mark for comfort. There are people that actually believe this sort of thing; they think the "carrying capacity" of the planet for the human population is about 100 million. So your 80% figure is low.
I’ll tell you what, and I really hope it doesn’t get me banned, but a friend of mine (a Ron Paul supporter, go figure lol) had me watch an Alex Jones movie the other day. Now I’ll admit, I’ve seen some of the 9/11 stuff the guy has done and that pretty much made me write off what he says as typical nutcasery. He’ll be dead on with a few things, then go off the deep end. But this film was really good, about “them” planning to kill most of us off to establish global socialism and a utopia on Earth. I’m sure it’s more theatrical than reality, but alot of it checked out. Socialism always leads to totalitarianism, without fail. Communism, national socialism, Maoism, Cuba, on and on and on.
But hey, it’s not like we’d ever let the central government take total control here right? /s
