A powerful blast went off in the house of a senior Islamic Jihad operative Friday, killing at least five people and wounding 40, medics and Hamas said.
Witnesses said the three-story home of Ayman Atallah Fayed had completely collapsed, and that six nearby home were also badly damaged. The blast went off Friday evening in Fayed's house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.
Islamic Jihad said Israel targeted the house in an air strike, but Hamas said the cause of the blast was not clear. The IDF said it had no knowledge of any strike on Bureij.
Let's list the possibilities:
a) A work accident - not impossible
b) Mossad / Shin Bet - when the IDF isn't allowed to show its muscles the secret services have decided to put some fear of God into the terrorist camp. First Mughniyeh, now Islamic Jihad operatives in Gaza. Not unlikely at all.
c) Iran or Syria - an Islamic Jihjad represnetative was present at the secret meeting with Mughniyeh at the Iranian School in Damascus. According to Lebanese reports Paletinians have been arrested in Syra suspected of taking part in the assassination. Are we seeing a red on red fight? Again, not unlikely at all.
Any ideas?

Well, if you stock home made rockets in your home the risk of an accident certainly increases.

But Hamas said the cause of the blast was not clear, and the IDF, which regularly takes responsibility for attacks on Gaza terrorists, denied any involvement.
Witnesses reported seeing fragments of what looked like locally-produced rockets at the scene, suggesting the house may have been used to store arms.
Health Ministry official Moawiya Hassanain said six people were killed, among them a woman. He said 40 people were wounded, including nine who were in critical condition, and that more casualties were being evacuated from the scene.
