Imagine my surprise when I found the below notice in my mail box. The United States Post Office is now advertising primarily in Spanish, with English being a minor added language. Has it reached the point where we not only have to press 1 for English, but have to request our mail to come in English as well? And whose identity is the post office concerned about?
That’s the equivalent of “Press 2 for English”.
So all of these Spanish speaking persons want their identity secure? Guess it must be a concern to them.
¿Qué?
I also enjoyed the last Jerry Lewis movie I watched. Uh oh.
Zut alors!
Get use to it or get out the guns. Whoever wins in the national election, this will happen. The USA is lost.
I’m thinking of investing in the Peso as it is sure to be worth more in four years.
Where do you live? Did you complain to the post office yet?
We haven’t seen anything like this yet in NY.
See my tagline!
I live in Mexico, and no one ever asked me in ENGLISH if I wanted Mi Apartado Renovado....Maybe Mexico has enlarged it’s border to include parts of the USA in a sinister way.
This is not new. USPS also (just incidentally BTW) provides mail service in Puerto Rico. The Old Post Office Department (POD) was probably the very first federal agency to provide mail service information notices in Spanish.
Just guessing now, but it has the look and feel of a postal notice to be used in Puerto Rico.
Remember the Alamo!
This was received in El Cajon (San Diego County).
You rang?
Great tagline!
I live in El Cajon, San Diego. I have not complained to the post office yet, but we are sending the card back with “English spoken in the USA” on it.
Good idea.
We have a PO box out of necessity and have not seen anything like that.
Of course, we live in a common sense little town that speaks English, and I think the postal workers would laugh at that and throw them out.
Thanks for the idea; I’ll be doing the same thing if/when I get one out east.
