I used to think highly of Gov. Perry, but those thoughts are slip-slidin’ away. When a politician uses absolutes, you can absolutely be safe in going the other way.

His body and age will likely ensure that pledge is an honest one. If elected, I find it doubtful the stress of the job will see him complete 4 full years. He’s already older than his father was when he passed away.

If we knew we could count on a single term, we would have four years to get a real American patriot into the office ..

We had 8 years and that apparently wasn't enough time. However, it was enough time for most of the nation to hate the Republican party so imagine how 4 more years in which to build on that hate is going to play out in '12. By then if we brought in God Himself, we've lose.

How about no McCain term instead. Rewarding the leftward push of the Democrat wing of the Republican party is no solution to the anti-conservative poison that now flourishes in the Republican ranks.

So you're going to reward the leftmost wing of the Democrats by letting Clinton or Obama get elected?

Agreed. McCain will never see eighty. Maybe even seventy-five will be a push. He’s not a well man.

Money buys a lot of things. Just ask the people that have been endorsing him lately.

Accordingly, I will not seek, nor will I accept, the nomination of my party for another term – after this one – as your President. What I am doing is certainly unprecedented, but I believe it is absolutely necessary. I refuse to be a President driven by polls and an undercurrent of reelection strategy.”

If he doesn't have to worry about reelection isn't he is even more likely to screw conservatives?

Just sayin'.

The bigger Perry’s ego gets and the more he sides with the RATS, the quicker he will be shown the door. As the door hits his backside, I hope KBH is exiting with him.

Grandfather died at 61. Father at 71.

“And There will be nothing stopping McCain from further ignoring the Conservative base or what we demand. He will focus completely on his joint agenda with the Democrats.

Global warming, amnesty, raising taxes to save “Mother Earth”, and with a Super majority of Democrats in both Houses, it will even be very difficult for McCain to keep our troops in the Middle East.

With open borders and 30 million illegals getting amnesty, expect a small percentage of them to be terrorists. Forget about the myth that he is “strong” on national security or our Military.”

You are absolutly right. McCain will be instituting the George Soros adjenda, a “Sorosian Candidate” if you would.

One interesting fact. McCain’s grandfather, an admiral, died at the age of 61 just 4 days after attending the Japanese surrender aboard the U.S.S. Missouri.

If that's how you assuage your guilty conscience for turning the Republican Party into a bunch of Democrats with an 'R' by their name, knock yourself out. Just don't expect me to join you in your liberal insanity.

John McCain’s strengths are those of courage, forthrightness, and an obvious sense of duty.

Too bad the author chosed the end of the article to insert this barf alert. It would have saved reading time had he began the article this way.

What!
Ya think this egomaniac would EVER consent to give up ANY power at all?
Limit himself to one term when there WAS A POSSIBLITY of two?
Not that he’d ever win, of course.

Where’s my tackle box? I’m Goin’ fishing.

I think the theory has merit.

The theory operates under the basic assumption that McCain:

  1. Is honorable.
  2. Will keep his promises.
  3. Will put the needs of others ahead of his own self-interest.

McCain has demonstrated repeatedly through his political career that he possesses none of those attributes.

It puzzles me why you believe that having the Democrats in office temporarily will somehow suddenly leave our troops stranded out in the open without food, water or supplies?

The Democrats will merely pull our troops away from the battle zones which will save their lives, not make them more vulnerable. We are currently in an advisory role with the Iraqi military and the transition is already happening at this moment.

After which, most of them will resign and return to civilian life. We will still leave a back-up force in place even if the Democrats win, even they are not that stupid, in spite of how ridiculous the retarded public has become.

Besides, you may begin preparing yourself for a Democrat landslide from all sides. The find the courage in later outsmarting them in 2010 & 12.

This will not be the first Democrat controlled USA in history either, so get used to the idea and learn from it.

My wife, who is astute in these things — perhaps has a minor gift of prophecy — says whoever wins in 2008 will be a one-term president. She thinks it will be Obama vs McCain, and it will be too close to call.

Well McCain is part of BUSH CLINTON BUSH CLINTON as he is almost certain to not win this election and he keeps a strong candidate off the GOP ticket. SOROS will win and
many GOP BOTS will help him and Clinton to get it done.

Why will the GOP BOTS not wake up.

Even better, if John McCain resigns after two years and one day in office, his Vice President could succeed him and be re-elected twice. Did that just raise the stakes for the VP nomination?
