Who debunked Posner’s book? I thought it was dadgum convincing.

Nobody did. The FR claimant to the 'debunking' has made a gratuitous statement with no facts to back it up; take as being worth as much as "I read in a book somewhere," or "I once heard..." Posner's book hasn't been debunked by anyone.

However, if you're interested in a shorter, clearer, and in many ways more convincing read that you can get cheap and is the source of a lot of Posner's ideas, take a look at this little ditty. Conspiracy of One: The Definitive Book on the Kennedy Assassination (Paperback) by Jim Moore.

A gem.

With just one slight change to the chronology--supported by eyewitnesses who testified to the Warren Commission--Moore effectively demolishes all the "magic bullet," "forward recoil/backward recoil," and "Mannlicher clumsiness" objections raised by conspiracy kooks over the years. I wish Posner had given him more credit. This book shouldn't have been ignored.

Gotta give credit where credit is due. JFK called for tax cuts to help blunt the effects of the 1960-61 recession. But they weren’t passed into law until 1964. In fact most of what JFK called for didn’t become law until after his death. This included his proposal for government sponsored health care (Medicare) for seniors and the elderly poor (Medicad). This came right from Truman’s Fair Deal policy agenda, an extention of FDR`s New Deal.

In his 3/12 years in office, JFK cut defense spending, increased the welfare state budget and expanded the federal government as a percentage of GDP.

In 1961 almost all Democrats were less liberal then they are today. Even fat Teddy Kennedy once opposed abortion. OTOH. Its been rumored that JFK forced his “girlfriends” who he got pregnant to get abortions. And JFK and fat Teddy worked hand in hand on the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act. Another liberal immigration reform proposal.

Sorry. JFK was a liberal in 1961 and would have been no better than his brothers had he lived. Remember how Robert Kennedy became a hardcore liberal by 1968 -— an early McGovern-type liberal. JFK would have supported most of the Democratic Party’s liberal policy agenda of the last 45 years.

There was a convention of JFK assassination conspiracy theorists some years back. Large hotel convention room set up. It’s a money making business. When the truth of a commie symp with a rifle and Marine training, supported by ballistics is the simpler explanation, then money can’t be made.

“But the transcript figures to get most of the attention. The conversation is between Ruby and Oswald. They supposedly met at Ruby’s nightclub on October 4th, 1963, less than two months before the assassination.

In it, they talked of killing the president because the mafia wanted to get rid of his brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy.”

Ugh, what a huge lack of information here. How was this conversation recorded in the first place? A dozen follow-on questions from there. Why was this in with items presumed to be original/authentic if, as the curator says, he doubts it is real?

Does he doubt everything listed is real, or just the one item of interest pertaining to the assassination motive itself which goes against officially approved history?

Oswald did it...ALONE!

Agreed. Years back, in one of the old Men's Magazines, a guy wrote of a scenario I would love to believe, just because of the sheer irony.

He claimed that while Oswald was the shooter, he was really after Connolly and Kennedy was killed by mistake (lousy shot).

He claimed that Oswald had petitioned Connolly, then governor of Texas, to upgrade his discharge (can't remember if it was "less than honorable" or what) because with his current status, he couldn't get a GI Loan of VA mortgage. Connolly refused, three times.

The irony is that, yes Virginia, there was a coverup, but it was to hide the fact that Kennedy was killed by mistake. If that were known he would be an object of pity instead of a martyr.

Well, it works in my universe. Something H. L. Mencken would like, I suspect. (One of his quotes applies to the current presidential campaign: "Every election is a sort of advance auction sale of stolen goods.")

“Oswald’s military intelligence file destroyed in 1973,[”

Hard to believe no copy of this remains, unless they were all deliberately purged.

. . . he couldn't get a GI Loan of VA mortgage.

Should be "he couldn't get money under the GI Bill or a VA mortgage."

(THEY made me incoherent. (cough))

this is, in fact, the definition of how a government cover-up looks - an official story bought into by many but with actual participants openly stating it is false, and naming details.

Curiously, some aspects of the Roswell situation in terms of actual participants openly contradicting stories is quite similar. I make no judgement on the Roswell issue itself.

I figure like most UFOs, it was a secret/experimental military aircraft. I remember when I started in aviation electronics for the USMC and got a chance to see some of the F-117s on display in Pensacola how much they looked like the “triangles” people were reporting left and right back in the day.

As for aliens themselves, I’m sure there are other planets with life. The statistics are just mindboggling to think we’re the only planet in the so-called Goldilocks Zone. I just doubt they are here anal probbing rednecks.

Ha ha ha.. do you really believe that?

How can anyone look at the zapruder film and not see the head shot came from the front?

By noticing the bullet impact drove JFK’s head 2.3 inches to the front plus all the debris went toward the front.

It was only after this that Kennedy’s head went toward the rear since he was still alive at that moment.

Plus:
From the front means the bullet would have had to jump over the windshield.
Zapruder didn’t see a shooter on the knoll.
The guy in the railroad tower didn’t see a shooter on the knoll.
The two officers and the dozen or so on the railroad overpass didn’t see any shooter on the bridge or the knoll.
The people on the sidewalk didn’t see anyone on the knoll.
The motorcycle cop didn’t see anyone on the knoll or behind the fence.
Zaprder filmed the corner of the fence and there was no one there.
The trajectories match the rear shot. They don’t line up for the front or the knoll.
The cratered hole in the back of the skull states a shot from the rear.
The bullets were found toward the front.
The damage from the third bullet and head shot damaged the windshield and the windshield chrome.

I guess you don’t believe any planes hit the Twin Towers either.

Funny, I thought I had read just about everything on the assassination, and found Posner’s book unique and conclusive. I hadn’t even heard of Conspiracy of One before!

Always learning...

Thanks for calling me a dummy, that was a very polite way to disagree with me.

The Zapruder films the I saw shows JFK’s head being hit in the front right and the back of his head exploding brains out onto the trunck, which Jackie Kennedy scrambles out to retrieve.

Are we looking at the same film?

When did all the ‘single shooter’ proponents get so rude?

I don’t know where to start on your list-

Zaprused was looking AT jfk (and filming him) while he was shot AND afterwards. The shooter would have moved immediately after the shot.

There were MANY witnesses who ran towards the grassy knolll looking for a shooter, because they heard the sound com from there.

If you know anything about forensics, youwould now a ‘crater’ is an EXIT wound. The entrance is usually nice and neat hole...

I could go on, but I need to go back to disproving a plane hit the twin towers.

you are really gullible if you believe that. The medical staff at parkland hospital clearly denoted a large exit wound in the back of JFK’s head. That is documented along with the many deaths of people involved in exposing or possibly exposing the truth. Oswald was only one of many people killed to hush up the truth. It’s amazing to me that after obvious facts have come out that people still deny the reality. Maybe it’s too horrific to imagine that our elected official could be taken out at anytime with a dedicated team of evil people.
