I grew up in southern Louisiana. The Shell Norco refinery is inland and it is much bigger. The Norco refinery is rated at 240,000 bpd.

Sad but true.
I hope there were no deaths or injuries, but my first thought was how timely as we begin to return to the driving season.
To: Soliton
Damn ... hope no one was killed.

It is still the largest INLAND refinery in the United States. Click the link I posted to you. Much larger refineries are found in:
Whiting, Indiana
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Wood River, Illinois
Saint Paul, Minnesota
Joliet, Illinois
Catlettsburg, Kentucky
North Pole, Alaska
And several others...

Well, there is a huge sign on the edge of Big Spring that says “Home of the USA’s largest inland refinery.”
Are those others on rivers?

Inland means away from the coast or borders. It doesn’t mean away from all water.

On the contrary, please, jump to conclusions.
Too much about this lends itself to being deliberate. I can’t believe that EVERY refinery explosion is an accident.
No matter, it will be found to *not be terrorism related* anyway, so we’ll never know the truth.

That would really be the best option.
I guess my trust-o-meter is reading pretty low when it comes to explosions and muslims.

I am glad no one got killed, maybe someone done it maybe not, but one way to look at it is there is some more work for us, and I come home and get out of Cally.
