By that autumn, the war was going poorly, and in the words of the Dictionary of American Biography: “[Clinton’s] agents recommended him among New England Federalists as a man who would stop the war . . . while with Republicans, they maintained that he would fight it more vigorously than his rival.”

Republicans wouldn't come into existance for more than four decades, no?

Hillary and Obama: It's About to Get Real Ugly

The word on the street is that the Obama campaign and New York Mayor Mike Bloomberg have already met and devised an incredible plan if Clinton wins the nominee. Mayor Bloomberg would give nearly $1 billion to Obama's campaign after which Obama would bolt from the Democratic Party and run as an Independent candidate with king-maker Bloomberg as his running mate.

If true, then Bloomboob's reply that he's not running for President is also true.

The Republican party needs some sort of mechanism to stop despicable people like Bloomberg and Specter from ever claiming membership. Bloomberg should have been denied entry before he ever had a chance to leave.

Start Spreading the News - Bloomberg and another Clinton.

Darn it — it’s a history lesson. From the headline, I thought maybe Bloomberg had decided to run for office w/the First Brother, Roger Clinton. Now THAT would make for an interesting ticket...”If I’m elected, I promise to pardon my running mate!”

Rumor has it that if Obama does not win the nomination (increasingly a long shot), Bloomberg is willing to bankroll a 3rd party Obama campaign to the tune of $1,000,000,000 (that’s one billion dollars). Of course, that would be conditional upon Bloomberg being on the ticket.
