On June 28, 1914, Gavrilo Princip shot the archduke and heir to the Austrian throne Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, setting in motion the train of events that led to the First World War.Actually the train was set in motion in 1878 when the Austro-Hungarian Empire occupied Slavic Bosnia and Herzegovina. It pulled into the station with the annexation by the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1908!

Makes a lot of sense to me. I think we should have kept hands off throughout all of this. Then again, I know so little about it that when I read countervailing arguments I agree with them too.

That said, I think it was insane for the US to be one of the very first out of the gate to recognize “Kosovo.”
