Hillary is discovering that she and her husband have no real, loyal, friends. They have people who are afraid of them, people they have bought, and people who owe them favors - but no real, loyal, friends. The Clintons are drying up before our very eyes. Isn’t it wonderful?

Not only that, she will have four more years to accumulate deeper wrinkles, and show the festering bitterness of losing to Obama. Her shelf life will be over, but perhaps she won’t realize this and will try again. But America won’t let her succeed.

If she can score few more “Zero Brack Votes” Precincts in Ohio and Texas, as she did in NY, she can win.

You gave better advice than the writer of the article above.

From the title, “How Hillary can still win”, we get this insightful analysis:

“Strategists almost universally said Clinton’s only hope is to bring Obama down through more — and more direct — attacks on his readiness to lead. And if that works, Clinton’s road map to victory is simply to start winning.”

So the secret to winning is to start winning. Brilliant...

That so-called come-back in New Hampshire happened when Edwards was still in the race. It may be only coincidence, but it seems that Obama’s fortunes started to turn when Edwards dropped out of the race. If he had dropped out before New Hampshire, Obama probably would have won that as well, as she only won by 3 percentage points. Edwards and Obama were the anti-Hillary vote, and now we are seeing it manifest itself now that Edwards is gone.

“but, even if Hillary bows out in 2008, might she come back and run in 2012 if McCain wins in November, or gear up for the next non-incumbent election in 2016? I just wonder if she has damaged herself beyond repair or if the Clintons have any residual support for another try in the future.”

Except in the case of Nixon, I don’t remember any candidate that competed to this extent where they came close to the nomination and came back to run again successfully. Many have competed more than once, as in the case of McCain in 2000, but McCain wasn’t really competitive after New Hampshire that year.

If she’s not likable and electable this time around, I can’t imagine how a 4 year older Hillary would be more palatable in 2012. She seems stale now.

The most dangerous job in the world, being a Secret Service Agent assigned to guard osamaobama.

And "you know", there were many SS agents who "mysteriously" died during the first Clinton administration.
