Under George W. Bush, the United States has not lived up to its historic role as a leader in the Western Hemisphere. As president, I will restore that leadership by working to advance the common prosperity and security of all of the people of the Americas. That work must begin with a renewed strategic partnership with Mexico...
... Starting my first year in office, I will convene annual meetings with Mr. Calderon and the prime minister of Canada. Unlike similar summits under President Bush, these will be conducted with a level of transparency that represents the close ties among our three countries. We will seek the active and open involvement of citizens, labor, the private sector and non-governmental organizations in setting the agenda and making progress.
With our neighbors to the south, that agenda must include securing our border. The hard work of comprehensive immigration reform must be done at home; we will be a nation of laws and immigrants. But we also have to work with Mexico to crack down on both illegal immigration and transnational criminal organizations that threaten people on both sides of the border...
... Our relationship with Mexico should serve as a bridge to greater security and prosperity in North America and to better relations with Latin America. But we cannot achieve this partnership unless we engage in sustained and focused diplomacy, and develop a more effective working relationship with our neighbor to the south.

Means he will tear the border fences that have been built so far, and remove all Border Patrol/ICE agents.
This guy is the one that they have been waiting for. Like sheeps to the slaughter.
“common prosperity and security of all of the people of the Americas”
North American Union=defeat of USA sovereignty
“The hard work of comprehensive immigration reform must be done at home”
Oh, boy, he’s adopting a Bush-Rove meme!
“Comprehensive immigration” is code word for mass legalization and wage depression.
But the verbiage will work on liberals who think America is harmful and other nations don’t have damaging interests.
I guess he couldn’t remember the Canadian PM’s name and why talk to Calderon when we have so many Mexicans here with whom he can repair relations.
The sad thing is that even this bland statement - clearly designed to let any listener think his own favored policy would have a chance under Obama - makes him the right-wing border security candidate relative to his opponents.
“Yes We Can” is speaking in code.
It’s a direct translation of “Sí Se Puede” which is the call of Atlazan for la Reconquista.
Oh, freakin PLEASE. George isn’t referred to as Jorge around many parts for nothing.
one sheep = sheep
multiple sheep = sheep
He will open the border the so wide, the immigrates will come in so fast they will end up in Canada before they stop.
Well, give him credit for having a plan. His plan is to have a meeting. I believe John Kerry had a plan similar to this for something or other back in the last election if I remember right.
Good Lord, he think Bush hasn’t pandered enough to Mexico for the past eight years?
Let this serve as yet another lesson to those who think we can win the Hispanic vote by giving Mexico everything they want. No matter how much Bush, McCain, Graham, or any other Republican panders, the ‘Rats will out-pander them.
Sheeple.
good catch. 8^)
