Try this statistic on for size: If China's economy continues to grow at its current pace, and the Asian giant doesn't cut its rate of energy use, by 2030 it could be emitting as much carbon into the atmosphere as the entire world does today.
And here's another: As you read this, China is bringing on line coal-fired power plants major sources of greenhouse-gas emissions at the mind-boggling rate of two per week.

Anthropogenic Global Warming is still nonsense, even if it’s the Chinese being blamed for it.
Yet, all along Americans will be told they must exhale less.
We’re the ones buying all their crap. A major recession, complements of the democrat party, should set the chicoms back where they belong.
And which country invested over $12 million in helping China develop those coal mines? Check your wallet and see if any money is missing.
OMG!!!! We’re all gonna DIE!!!!!!!!!!!
(Whew!. I feel better already!)
Two powerplants per week... that’s scary, but not for the CO2 emissions.
Mercury from Chinese coal had been coming down in the Great Lakes region since the 1980s. None of the Chinese plants have a precipitator or scrubber for ash and NOX/SO2.
Well said. China is a filthy country and they’re exporting it.
But the article is hung up on evil carbon. Go figure.
It’s fun to see the Chinese get tarred with this nonsense for a change. Usually they try to align international groups against us to distract from themselves. That wont work anymore.
