This must be a tough decision for McCain: Placate the Conservatives or placate those whose votes he seems to be trying to win.

Liberals still haven’t learned what happens when you give a man a fish.
It has been around since the Monterrey conference. It has gotten more play recently because of the paucity of legislation sponsored by BHObama which can be trumpeted on the campaign trail in response to those pundits asking prospective voters to name something the man has done in the Senate.
For my part, I regularly let my elected representatives know of my stance on the issue, and I’ve been very vocal about the lack of hearings, and the lack of recorded votes on the issue so far in the legislative process.
Any Republican who supports this bill should be expelled from the party. It’s an abomination, a travesty.
> he should start with the Barack Obama bill, the Global Poverty Act (S. 2344), which itself is a vastly expanded form of earmark. It commits the U.S. to spending $845 billion to eradicate poverty in the rest of the world. <<
Could somebody check my math?
I’ve tried calculating this several different ways.
I keep getting the GOP is off by a factor of 10 (although I suppose that could explain the Federal deficit)
Does anybody see where I’m making an error?
13 * (10^12) * (.7%) = 91 000 000 000
or
.7% of 13 trillion = 91 000 000 000
91 000 000 000 / one billion = 91
I don’t have any problem with Obama’s plan, as long as George Soros, Oprah Winfrey, Teresa Kerry, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, and Teddy Kennedy are going to fund it.
