For the benefit of our country, I hope and pray respect for the office of the president returns with the new president in 2009. The abuse the presidency of George Bush was forced to tolerate has been nothing short of obscene.
Just last week, someone referred to the president as "that bastard Bush." The former first lady, senator and presidential candidate gently nodded her head in approval and answered the foul mouth with, "Well, there is a lot of truth in that."
For years now Mr. Bush has been called a liar, betrayer, dummy, bastard, fear monger, murderer just to name a few. The_Democratic_Party has spent the last seven years attacking the man and the office. Now the next president will attempt to sit in the Oval_Office and command respect. Be it Democrat or Republican good luck!
I wonder if the Democrats have ever taken a moment out of hating George Bush to consider the long-term damage they will have inflicted on the presidency by attacking everything President Bush said or did. They made a cottage industry of these attacks two years into a war talking about how the "dummy" duped them into it. Who is the idiot in that equation? Being duped by a dummy is nothing I would list on my resume if I were applying for the job as leader of the free world.
I can only imagine the outcome if the attacks Mr. Bush has weathered had been leveled on George Washington while fighting the British prior to becoming our first president? Could you see Mr. Lincoln being called a liar and a crook during the Civil War? How effective would FDR have been fighting the Nazis if Charles Curtis was screaming, "He betrayed us. He played on our fears," as Al Gore did?

Low life will always be low life.
BDS?
Create and foster the monster that is hate, then bring in a false messiah.
saying democrat and scu%bag in the same sentence is being repetitious.
Bush Derangement Syndrome
Excellent
Thanks, but it’s just too easy to demonstrate the truth about liberal scum-bags. :)
While I do respect the office and did even when it was soiled by the last president, I really hope to see a return of respect for the American people by government.
It shows what the liberal Socialist dems represent to America — NOTHING -— and that is their whole platform -— NOTHING -— they can only defame, defile, destroy character -— I guess the job of dumbing down America has been pretty successful since the Dims are still around -— and WHY? FOR WHAT? To feed a class of voters that just want to hang on the government teet?? They are selling America for votes -— and all they can do is bash Bush. They are NOTHING TO AMERICA — they have NOTHING for this country and its people.
Nuff said.
BDS—Bush Derangement Syndrome. Term was coined by columnist Dr. Charles Krauthhammer.
Clinton’s loathe the military and it really shows in that picture.I’d like to slap that look off her face.
If there’s an upside to this, it’s that I won’t feel very constrained in my own visceral loathing of whichever two legged cockroach they’re going to inflict on us.
Yes.
But we did much the same to Clinton, those years he was in office. He didn't deserve it, each and every time.
I dimly recall attempting to defend an action or two of Clinton's [though I cannot remember precisely what they were, on those rare occassions he was actually right, heheh!] but I do recall somewhat clearer being verbally assualted here on FR for trying.
If I recall also, this non-stop criticism stuff was going along pretty well, way back to the Johnson admin., picking up tempo through Nixon, abating to being mainly grousing noises with Ford, then Carter, after which the vehemence picked up again, aimed from the left towards Reagan.
The difference was, the non-stop aspects, were not so front and center, in-your-face, as they are today.
Bush has certainly been falsly accussed of all manner of horrible things. Not only is that grevious on it's surface, but it can cloud those issues when true & honest criticism is called for, regardless of Party affiliation.
We all end up the worse off for it, too.
I wish I had a bumper sticker with those two pics on it.
some of them have Terminal BDS...
Yes, given black America has become the very engine that propels Our Republic I think it was worth destroying the nation for a generation over the issue.
The difference is that it was nearly all true about Clinton.
None of this will matter when the history books describe President Bush as the greatest president since Lincoln.
Ever notice that it was after they became baby-murderers that the Democrats started flinging around words like “murderer” and “killer,” and portraying every Republican tax cut or budget reduction-in-the-rate-of increase as an attempt to “kill people.”
Yes, I agree. And those parts which were more speculative in nature, were much more well founded than the ravings coming from the left, today.
Now when we get around to the wild-and-crazy insults we heaped upon Clinton, those were fun, viscous in nature as they may at times have been. The more tongue-in-check stuff was usually always funnier, in that the meanest and crudest stuff, isn't as funny to the mainly adult & mature membership we have around here...
A good zapper can be appreciated and laughed at, even by the target.
“None of this will matter when the history books describe President Bush as the greatest president since Lincoln.”
Written in Spanish, no doubt.
Washington was attacked too...Thomas Paine published a ferocious attack on him (which did far more harm to Paine’s reputation than to GW’s) because he believed Washington had been indifferent to his fate when he was in danger of being executed by the Jacobins during the Reign of Terror.
I would suggest that those who so mourn the loss of respect for the office of the President review some of the names Bill Clinton was called during HIS tenure! Granted, Bill Clinton deserved that opprobrium, but the OFFICE did not. One more reason why the Arkansas pervert’s damage extends beyond a few stains on the carpet ...
Remember the “first 100 hours”, “drain the swamp”, “out of Iraq” even as far as “Impeach Bush.” The Dems whipped those dolts into a frenzy, got elected, and then the Dems did...well...nothing. Because, you can be criticized if you do something, who wants to risk that. Much easier to do nothing and continue to point at Bush when your followers are lemmings.
To them Bush is dumb (what they want to believe), but he’s managed to run Dems over for 8 years. You see how they can’t believe what they want to believe because it makes no sense and that makes them more angry.
And then there’s Maude! Sorry I mean HOPE! And then there’s HOPE!!!
The new undefined immeasurable feel good thing. But, if HOPE get elected and fails, who to blame then? I mean you can still blame Bush for, say, a year or year and a half. But, one day you wake up starring at the next Jimmy Carter!
And when the country was falling apart
Obama got it all sewed up.
And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s HOPE.
And then there’s...

That will only happen if a Democrat is elected.
Don't kid yourself, you must not know who's writing the history books...
What are the history books saying about Reagan?
For all his short-comings Bush was a good president. There isn’t a Dhimmi alive that could have withstood the pressure that Bush dealt with on a daily basis. And not a one of them that could fill his shoes.
“Return respect to the residency” my grannies panties. The author captures it perfectly. We’ve crossed the Rubicon and there ain’t no going back.
The libs brought this on and they’ll rue the day.
Definitely Bush Derangement Syndrome.
LOL! Well Have At It!
Wow, that felt good!
[None of this will matter when the history books describe President Bush as the greatest president since Lincoln.]
“Written in Spanish, no doubt.”
And Arabic.
“And Arabic.”
Yep.
Probably as one of the founders of the new Caliphate’s province of Aztlan.....
I feel certain the day will come when President GWB and VP Cheney are both recognized as stronger, respected leaders, of a great Nation, who served with honor and dignity, during a period of terror and war.
good article
The winners write the history. We need to make sure we win. Though I don’t agree that GW Bush is our greatest president since Lincoln. There was Reagan, and maybe others. But he’s pretty great, greater than any Democrat since Lincoln.
BDS just makes them more careless, obnoxious and stupid. Three things that liberals cannot at all afford to be nowadays.
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;”
Yes. In fact, Lincoln was compared to a monkey. Not as regularly as George Bush, but hotly in the middle of the war.
So, democrats have been aholes forever.
Amen
Well sir, I'd like to think we could return to "those bygone" days where there was some sense of self-retraint and control before sinking into the abyss of public degradation of the highest office of this nation.
I just don't think it will happen.
The socialist left have spent years indoctrinating generations of youth in hatred of all things decent including public decorum. It doesn't exist in the minds of today's youth. Anything is permittable and judgement against of such destructive behavior is looked down upon.
The left has spent decades breeding ranks of sociopaths through indoctrination at public schools. These are the carriers of the fascist torch that Nazi Germany dropped at the end of WWII. They are Lenin and Stalin's children and they have set their sites on our Constitution and our freedom.
Our most cherished American icons will burn before them if unstopped.
All part of the leftist plan. McCarthy was right.
That being said, if a leftist assumes the mantel of POTUS, I have every intention of resisting the fascist left as any good patriot would.
The benefit of our onslaught however, will be that it's true - lol!
The 'RATS call Bush that which THEY are! As always, look to see what they ACCUSE the GOP of, and you will KNOW what the 'RATS are up to!
