Senator John Warner of Virginia is joining those sounding skepticism about a powerful anecdote that Barack Obama told during Thursday night's Democratic presidential debate.

Warner, who has endorsed likely Republican nominee John McCain, sent Obama a letter seeking more information, noting that the military has regulations about using non-US weapons.
“This is a disturbing network of factual allegations,” wrote Warner, who said he planned to ask Army officials about Obama’s account at a Senate Armed Services Committee meeting on Tuesday.

How dare John Warner question the all-knowing Saint Obama? Questioning Obama’s wisdom will inspire hate crimes against minorities.

It’s a big stinking pile of crap. We aren’t allowed to use non-US weapons, and a great deal is made out of getting the proper equipment before movement.

This is a disturbing network of factual allegations, wrote Warner...
so Warner believes it?

CNN was trying mightily to cover up for Barry’s phony story today, claiming to have found the captain who kind of told the same story. To those outside the Barry cult, there seemed to be a lot of holes in it.
I’m glad Warner is following this up. It would be interesting to see if the Glib One knows how to apologize to the military. It is obvious he knows nothing about military rules and protocol.

CNN apparently made contact with this military person of interest that wrote to Obama. While Obama was not precise on the details of the complaints, the military person described going to war with a military that got Clintonized. Of course the military guy did NOT blame the Clintons cuts but that is why he was where he was in the situation he found himself. Oh the guy was out of Fr. Drum, NY.

I agree, bigtime. The question is, will it stick to his shoe?
When does this guy's pass expire? I believe it has been about a month now that I've been hearing "we're beginning to see increased scrutiny of the Obama campaign." Well, let's see it.
As usual, this is disturbing on multiple levels. But the most disturbing, for me, is the stupidity of repeating something like this. Doesn't he have handlers or something who are supposed to keep him from "stepping in it?"
Assuming the media really does get around to "increased scrutiny," if comments like these are any indication, this guy may be easier to beat than Hillary come November.

So the Obama camp had Jake Tapper of ABC News validate the story? Why didn’t Obama bring this up prior to the debate. I mean, if our troops are in that much trouble, why sit on it and have Jake Tapper relay messages?

Shaking my head. The MSM knows no shame. If Bush had made the same statement, the media would braodcast the blunder nonstop.
