Why is he being charged? He got the attempted murderer and robber and gave him what he needed, well maybe not he is still alive. I would say that I was in fear of my life and the life of my wife and that this was a case of taking care of business.

MY advice:
Ignore the wife/smoking/knife bit.
“I was driving down this here dark road, and this jaywalker ran right in front of my car. I didn’t have time to stop”.

The Husband should get a Medal.
the Cop should be fired.
The Criminal should be treated like a Criminal, put in Prison.

The real ugliness will start when the perp, or his survivors, files suit against the husband, and succeeds in taking, through the courts, far more than he would have gotten from the woman’s purse.

Years ago a woman from a biker family in Jefferson County, MO (then known as a red neck area near St. Louis) disppeared.

It took a while, but the police found the body, and knew who the killer was.

At that time, Jefferson County had an unofficial ‘family notification’ policy. They called the family of the victim, told them they had found the body, who the killer was, where the killer was, and that the police would go arrest him in about an hour.

Unfortunatly, when the police arrived about an hour later, the killer had already committed suicide with a shotgun blast to the face from across the room.

Here is how this will go down.
Victim: “Oh the horror of it. She was smoking fouling the air. She was preparing to consume unhealthy food. I seen her arrive in a vehicle that was not ecologically friendly. Then when I tried to respond to these horrors, her husband intentionally harmed me further by impaling me on his bumper.”
Jury: “Guilty, award him millions”

IF the robber has been caught

And IF the robber had gone to trial

IF the robber was convicted

IF the robber was sentenced,

The stance would not have been to be so damaged as to be in critical care.

This will cost the state a ton of bucs & I believe the DA will use terms like:

Vigilante, street justice, reckless endangerment, then devolve to use of force and so on.

The driver will be lucky to get away with a whole skin, the robber will use the crap out of him as well.

Welcome to todays America.....where some actions have consequences, ad others don’t - all depending, of course on the victims/perpetrators —
Race, National Origin, sexual preference, language, creed, and the biggie, how much dough one or the other has at hand.

Well Mr. Moretti himself, actually shot at the man twice also. They left that and the fact that he ran off the road, to hit him. All the facts known so far are what the Moretti’s said. He’s no “hero”. Hitting him three times is a little excessive.

Please read my post carefully - I did not use the word hero.

I did say Mr M would be sued, the DA would use bad words and in the end - the guy in the hospital got more than the courts would have ever given him.

On the other hand, the ‘victim’ did use a deadly weapon to attack a women. His bad luck that hubby was nearby. Running the guy down 3 X after shooting him a couple of times does seem a tad excessive tho....

Had that happened to *MY* wife, I would have shot the asshat at least once, generaaly all that is needd with a 230gr hollowpoint going just over a grand........
