Wasn’t Obama who sent 19 US Army Rangers, good men all, to their deaths because he was more worried about his approval rating then giving them the tools to complete the mission he sent them on.
Wasn’t Obama who pushed thru the Congress the largest tax increase in US History.
Wasn't Obama who ignored a growing Islamic fundamentalist threat because he lacked the moral, and political, courage to break with the strident hysterically pacifist faction of his political base.
Clinton Inc is far far far more dangerous then Obama. Radical agendas tend to fair poorly in DC. Long time DC politicians hate to stick their necks out. Plus President Obama is going to have to face the two most politically vindictive Senators, McCain and Clinton, after beating them in elections. Neither Clinton nor McCain is going to forgive and forget. Ask GW Bush about that if you doubt me.
Then there are those 69 Democrats in red states districts. Since they have not rolled over to vote for the Pelosie-Reid radical agenda, doubtful Obama would get them to cut their own political throats for him.
On the other hand, the Clinton have demonstrated the ability to move bad legislation thur the Congress via political intimidation and vote buying.
Clinton inc must be so politically destroyed, so humiliated that it can never be a force in national politics again. A dumb, radical leftist like Obama is far less dangerous to the longer term security of the USA then the amoral politically corrupt Clintons

This is the best analysis I have seen for where we are now. 2008 could well be a rout for us if we are not able to overcome these points.
I was more than satisfied with Governor Pawlenty’s appearance on Fox News Sunday. He asserted himself, answered Jason Lewis’s criticism with aplomb and grace and seemed secure as being a leader. Chris Wallace did point out he was this year’s President of the Governor’s association.
Great job Governor!
Governor Kaine (D of Virginia) also did almost as well. He must be in the short list for Obama.
Corzine looked shifty and insincere and did not answer the question about middle-class paying more taxes. His theme seems to be the same as Huey Long who said, “...don’t tax me, don’t tax thee we will tax that fellow behind the tree..” What a creep. People from NJ need to wonder how much more they will be taxed before they have to move just to pay the grocery bill.
I saw that and snickered out loud; poor Mort, he was mortified. :-)

During Hillary's first terms in the White House, the Clintons cut the size of the active military by about 1/3; if that cut had not happened, all the National Guard and Reserve activations of the last several years would not have happened.
If Donald Rumsfeld had said, "You don't go to war with the Army you want, you go to war with the Army that Bill and Hillary left behind", that would be a true statement.

The truth is that the cuts in the military, i.e., the peace dividend, started in the Bush 41 administration and in a Rep controlled Congress starting in 1995.
Power player of the week is about McCain’s campaign manager, Davis. He works without pay. He says that McCain’s patriotism is one thing that draws him to him and then talks about the “change agent” that McCain really is. Davis is in “pinch me” mode regarding the fact that McCain essentially came back from the dead (my words, not his). He confirmed that the NYTimes slime job on McCain brought in the biggest amount of money in a single day. Pretty good segment, overall, I think.
On a side note: I went for a walk this morning (I live in South Tampa). There are only three yard signs up right now (and I walked probably two miles). Two for Obama, one for Hillary. My husband and I jut shook our heads and wondered who are these people. Even though he wasn’t my first choice, I’ll be backing McCain, and will be putting up a yard sign in the near future.

Agree with all this. I think we are looking at four years of rank amateur incompetence. It’s a damn shame we don’t have a real conservative ready to oppose this charlatan right now. By 2012, the Odumbo administration should be ripe for the picking if we get someone who can simply articulate conservative basics.

It just got much harder for Barack Obama or his campaign to complain about “racist” attacks on their candidate, I think. For a wonderful example of perceived victimhood, take a look at a Princeton and Harvard educated attorney’s thesis.

McCain has a chance if he can point out that Obama has repeatedly said he will raise taxes on the rich, and his definition of rich is anyone earning over $75,000.
He also should point out that this “community service” for $4000 of college money will not give people a choice as to where they work, and will probably be minimum wage positions, if not completely unpaid.
And the health insurance issue needs to be addressed in a way that people can understand. It will NOT be “FREE” healthcare. You are going to be forced to pay for it. A lot of kids do NOT want to spend their beer and pizza money on health insurance that they think they don’t need.
Obama’s declaration that he would meet with Raoul Castro should get the Cubans in Florida up in arms.
If we can also make Obama look ridiculous, a lot of the bloom would be off his popularity. He is starting to believe his own rhetoric, and it’s making him give long, BOOORING, speeches. His last acceptance speech (45 minutes) had a lot of those kids looking at their watches and yawning.
I think there is opportunity this fall if we are smart and if we can stick together. It won’t be easy, but if we get too discouraged we guarantee a loss.
