Sigh...
You know I love you right.
You also know I wouldn’t say anything unless I thoroughly researched it.
Obama’s not just a dumb, radical leftist... he’s much worse.
The only yard signs here in NE TX are for Ron Paul (several of them), 1 for the huckster, and some new ones for Obama. Osama/bama now has a campaign headquarters here.
That’s true, of course, but if a potential candidate needs to use the press in order to win, it indicates that voters aren’t spontaneously backing the candidate.
One thing that you forget is that a lot of voters don’t even read a paper or watch CNN. They show up out of some sort of lemming-like civic response to the “you must vote” message and base their decisions on things like hairdo, speaking style, who has the prettiest wife, who reminds them of their best friend in high school, etc.
Haley Barbour on Fox now says conservatives are going to unite behind John McCain. Says that although McCain isn’t as conservative as he is, but he has a good solid conservative record and the South, when they look at how liberal either of the democrats are, will overwhelmingly vote for McCain.
FNC is just plain clueless.
They are stuck on the SNL skits (due to Mccuddy’s connection to SNL most likely)
FNC is just dancing around the ONLY asset McCain has. McCain is not obama/hillary. the end.
Haly Barbour is on FNC now because he is a potential VP.
My impression is mccain is going to pick a pro-amenesty, pro-kyto global warming tax, pro-pork RINO runing mate.
I curious. Do you realize the logical inconsistency in blaming 1st a Republican President then switching the blame to a Republican Congress for the military cuts in order to justify your avoiding blaming a Democrat President and the Democrat controlled Congress for doing the same thing? Logically if the President is one we are to hold responsible for the cuts starting in 1988, the President is also responsible for the cuts made in 1995.
Not to mention "implying"
Irrelevant? I am part of the electorate. I attended CPAC for three days and witnessed the visceral dislike a sizeable number of attendees had about McCain and their vow not to vote for him under any circumstances. Others said that they would hold their nose and vote for him, but they would not volunteer to work on his behalf or contribute to his campaign. If McCain loses just 5 to 10 percent of the conservative vote, he is going to have a difficult time winning period.
Obama has some serious political negatives to overcome. It would be wise for people not to ignore Obama's negatives just because they hate John McCain.
Those "serious poliitical negatives" must be seen in the context of general electorate. Obama will go into the general election with a much more united and energized party compared to McCain.
The fact is Obama is a radical Leftist running for President in a predominately Conservative-Moderate nation. That is going to be a tougher sell to the public at large then it has been to the Democrat faithful.
In 2004, John Kerry was rated the most liberal senator from the most liberal state in the country. He was running against an incumbent, wartime President in good economic times. Despite his huge personal baggage, uncharismatic style, and unappealing message, he almost was elected President receiving the second highest vote total in American history. Obama is a far more appealing candidate.
For all the talk about primary turn out, everyone keeps overlooking the fact that it was considerable smaller then the turnout will be for the General Election.
The Dems are setting turnout records in the primaries in many of the states. It is an indication of what their turnout will be in the Fall. The are energized.
So while structurally this is obviously the Democrats election to lose, it may be the public at large will see Obama as simply too radical to be trusted.
You have far too much faith in the American electorate.
My impression is mccain is going to pick a pro-amenesty, pro-kyto global warming tax, pro-pork RINO runing mate.
This is it. It can’t work. Get ready for President Obama.
Or, pray the Times find a smoking gun and McCain steps down before convention.
I am not voting for either one of them.
So, the idea is to keep reminding people how McCain is hated? What will be the logical outcome of this? And how will it help the conservative movement?
If we are seen to have taken our ball and gone home, then we will have even less influence with the GOP, not more.
The bottom line is who is best for this nation in a time of war: McCain, or Hillary/Obama? That is how I am making my decision.
“I am not voting for either one of them.”
Me either.
That is just flatly untrue and bogus. He lead every national poll by double digits right around labor day. The debates caused his lead to slip. But at no point was he a "lost cause"; that is just revisionism.
Doris Goodwin discussing plagiarism.
Why should I take this show seriously?
I am not voting for either one of them.
Me either.
No doubt. The image of an old man running against a young vigorous one helps Obama.
Haley Barbour on Fox now says conservatives are going to unite behind John McCain. Says that although McCain isnt as conservative as he is, but he has a good solid conservative record and the South, when they look at how liberal either of the democrats are, will overwhelmingly vote for McCain.
McCain will win the South except perhaps for Virginia, which is changing due to the changing demographics in Northern Virginia. McCain is going to have problems elsewhere. He could only win 47% of the primary vote in his home state, the only top tier candidate who got less than 50% in his/her home state.
LOL! Asked and answered.
Bingo.
I am not blaming anyone. It takes both the President and Congress to make such decisions. The downsizing of the military started under Bush 41 and a Dem congress and continued under Clinton and a Rep-controlled Congress. Such plans are not done ad hoc or using a short timeframe. They are developed using a long term trajectory. To rebuild them, you need to do the same thing. They don’t occur overnight.
