Well not to dissapoint here is the main course. Nigella Lawson Bacon with honey glaze

Followed by butterscotch and almond pie

Sorry have not been around today but we had storm damage to roof which the insurance company has just approved the claim and so whilst the scaffold is still up my friend took the opportunity to do some repairs not covered by the claim so I have been feeding and watering him all day.

You would expect the same nervousness/buyers remorse from the left as we are seeing on the right. Some of those could be Plants for Harpy baiting the Bama voters.

After their convention and his speaking ability you will see a mass movement of all the hip people lining up behind him like the lemmings that they are. It will be more religion than politics, very frightening.

Pray for W and Our Troops

Tim Pawlenty. Hope this doesn’t mean he is on McCain’s short list for VP.

Prolly means that the Drive-Bys are pushing Pawlenty for the VP nomination.

Your governor does bear a resemblance to the Gipper. I know nothing about him, but he sounds as though he wouldn’t be a bad choice at all.

I am not blaming anyone. It takes both the President and Congress to make such decisions. The downsizing of the military started under Bush 41 and a Dem congress and continued under Clinton and a Rep-controlled Congress.

Yep. The one year that Newt (and Bill) managed to cut spending(relative to GDP), the so-called spending cuts were mostly DOD.

You make a lot of good points. But, I believe once the nominees are official and the general election goes into full swing, Americans will settle down to a meal and will want some meat on dem bones ... that’s when the polls will start shifting to McCain: once American’s begin to compare and contrast McCain and Obama.

Remember, the polls for a solid year said the nominees will be Giuliani versus Hillary.

How wrong they were.

Attention all FReepers: If you believe, as I do, that Senator John McCain is destined to be our next President, effective immediately, there is no such thing as too much long term personal debt!!!!!

Our peripatic population makes it hard to assess states by the standard of what the people did 10 or 20 years ago.

No hard core liberal will vote for McCain but he might get votes from middle of the roaders who don’t like Hill or Obama and who think McCain is not too rabid a Republican.

And, by gosh, he’s not!

A VP should also be a household name as well.

Let’s pray he’s not crazy enough to pick Lindsey.

I got a phone call from him a couple of days ago and he promised me everything I ever wanted.

I’m gonna transcribe it so I can hold him to it.

Er ... will somebody tell me how to do that?

Now that's funny. Hell, it's not even potato salad humor and it's still funny.

I hope the McCain haters will give up their pouting and sulling and realize that he is in a whole nuther universe from the two democrat candidates.

He won’t be perfect, but he will NOT DO the harm to our country that either of them would do.
