Not surprising. Neither Democrat can compete in red states, mainly because of their unelectability, while McCain can compete in blue states.

The GOP will win the presidency in November.

I think we'll find, in the end, that McCain's competition in the blue states was as much illusion as the Times endorsement of him. We'll also see him struggle to take red states that would be easy for a Conservative Republican. I also still believe there will be a third party forming on the Conservative side.

I expect it will be close. The economy will be the big issue though and McCain isn't very clever about that.

“The GOP will win the presidency in November.”

I agree. Obama-Mania will run it’s course, and people like my own Father, as Republican as they come, have been crossing over like crazy in the primaries to vote for either The Beast or Obama to keep fanning the flames so those two burn out.

I’ve been hearing this from many conservative friends; in our WI primary they voted for the Dems because the Republican nomination appears to be a lock, and they plan on voting for McCain in the General.

I’ll bet others in the upcoming states do the same between now and then.
