I rarely had a problem signing up for a class section that didn’t conflict with other needs, such as work.
Check out some of the Muslim Q&A/proseltyzing sites, and find out just exactly how loose these ‘set’ prayer times really are; and how, if missed, most can be ‘made up’ later.
This is just pure “Let’s Push the Infidel” pushing.
And I am a Primitive Christian, who like Messianic Christians and Jews observes the various Holy Days described in Lev 23. Just try and get a liberal university to honor “diversity” by postponing exams, labs, mandatory attendance events on those days to when I would have been happy to make them up. Been there, done that, never successful.
Look, bud, no one asked you to come study in Australia. You don’t like it, go study in Saudi Arabia. Now hush.
These students are just being difficult. Muslim students have been enrolled in western schools for many years.
There are definitely specific prayer times assigned, but the time frames are rather broad at least when muslims can’t hear the official “call to prayer” which is heard in Mecca, Dearborn and other muslim communities. And if there is good reason, the prayers can be made up at a later time.
This is just another case of muslims in the west pushing the envelope.

They should go to the universities in the muslim countries, they they can have their prayer time.
I have personally experienced the venom with which Muslim students complain about Christian and Jewish holidays. They were ENRAGED that they did not have equal time.
It seems we are beginning to cave into the madness.
