No, seriously, we really are.
By Christopher Cook
We Republicans and conservatives have been nervous of late, and rightly so.
First, we had the prospect of Hillary Rodham Clinton, which was unnerving enough. But then, something worse came along: Barack Obama.
Barack Obama is as much of a leftist as HRC, if not more of one. He's as much of a statist as she is.*
But he's more personable, more popular, more friendly, more affable. At least with HRC, we could run against her baggage as well as her positions. We could count on the American people seeing her generally distasteful persona and factoring that into their electoral calculus.
But this Obama fellow is charming, fresh, young, handsome, and he can deliver an inspiring speech.
He's driving crowds wild and raising scads of money.
He is bringing out NEW young and NEW black voters in droves...and new voters are the best kind for a candidate to get.
The media have gone head-over-heels for him, and it's only going to get worse.
Obama is scary. Very scary.
And we can beat him. Possibly even in a landslide.
Obama is a leftist. The American people don't like leftists.
FDR managed to trick the people, because folks didn't know as much about leftism and socialism as we do today.
Truman and LBJ first ascended to power as the result of the death of presidents. LBJ had the added advantage, at least at first, of a particular moment and mood, which helped him win his election. Kennedy ran to the right on several issues, and...

Huge difference between voting in the primaries, and voting in the general election. Huge! I daresay that if you accosted 10 random voting age people on the street, you'd be lucky to find 2 that understand the primary process and can name some (not even all) of the candidates they're eligible to vote for. General Election is a whole lot more open, if for no other reason than all of the GOTV campaigns, dead voters casting ballots, Media Blitzes, and so forth.
If the public perception of Obama in November matches the public perception today ... then Obama wins. ...I agree with you there. We're talking Reaganesque landslides if that's the case.
And stick a fork in Hillary, she is done. ...I don't think that Hillary is done until she decides that she's done. Like I said in an earlier post - she might not (most likely not) win the nomination, but she can ensure that everyone loses. Hell hath no fury, and all that rot.
Lots of racial tension among the Proles in the Philly area. That may be a reason why Obama did so poorly in the blue collar suburbs in South Jersey, right across from Philly.

LOL!
And this year's variant:
"What, you mean that I can't cast my vote on Wednesday the 5th?!! DISCRIMINATION!"
He was a master at triangulation. He ran to the right.
Tennessee will not go for Obama. They don’t ike him. They voted for Hillary in the primary but if Obamass gets the nomination, they will go with McCain.
I think you are absolutely right.
Can you believe the MSM is ignoring this?
Hey I'm with you 100% but there's an fanatic, vocal minority here that will blast you.
I think the bloom on the rosebush will fade. Right now its like an infatuation. Very strong and emotional but infatuations always fade away. Their not real so there is nothing to sustain them. Besides teenyboppers have very short attention spans. They will get bored with this before the election.
Thank you for defending Senator McCain. He deserves America’s respect if nothing else. He went through hell in VietNam. I doubt if very many could have survived what he did.
You are so right. Right now I wish we had Bubba instead of Obambass. I never thought I’d see the day when I would welcome Clinton back.
Well, God love her! Tell her thank you from us.
The ascendancy of BHO is the realization of the efforts of all the Cultural Marxists whose ideas were nurtured by the Gramcians who set up the Frankfurt School and spawned cultural radicals like Erich Fromm, Herbert Marcuse, and Theodore Adorno. Their intellectual progeny are thoroughly ensconced in the MSM, academia, Hollywood, and most importantly in the George Soros directed modern day Democratic Party which is the nest for all the Vipers on the left, the racial identity determininists, the radical feminists, the sexual deviationist lobby, the watermelon environmentalists, the open borders crowd and the anti-war seditionists who seek to steal from our magnificent armed forces the victory that they have earned with their blood and valor in the SAME MANNER as they stole our hard earned victory from those of us who are Vietnam vets.
Their apotheosis is the religion of Obama, the Lucifer deceiver who would lead this great nation to Fabian Socialist HELL!!!
Should Obama or Clinton get a compliant Democrat Congress and Senate, the damage done to this country and to liberty as we have known it, would be incalculable. They are the most dangerous presidential candidates since Henry Wallace. Please check this link. It will tell you all that you need to know. There is credible info that could lead one to believe that his Indonesian stepfather to him to Mosque with the intent of making him Muslim. His own campaign said in a LA Time article that he was never a REGULARLY practicing Muslim, leading one to infer that he was an IRREGULARLY practicing Muslim. That is enough for the Muzzies to convict him as an apostate or to accept him as one of the faithful deceiving the dhimmis. Check the years 1971-1973 at the link below.

Besides, I think a lot of Republicans didn’t bother to vote in the primaries because McCain pretty well had it sowed up early on and they didn’t see any reason to vote. And also I think a lot of Republicans registered democrat in the primaries to vote against Hillary.
Only in a night mare..

As long as McCain has no interest in securing our borders, he is enabling anyone who is interested in getting here and launching an attack of some kind. For that matter, why attack when you can just come across the border and take over peacefully? Talk to me about national security when McCain thinks it is a good idea to build a wall.
In the article at your link, above, notice how Obama's spokesman trades on the name of Christ instead of saying "birthday gift" to make his point:
"Speaking on a conference call, Obama advisers rejected the suggestion that the candidate is shamed by the photo, but likened the incident to receipt of an unwanted Christmas present.
"General Scott Gration, who was along on the trip to Africa, said Obama was given the outfit and encouraged to try it on during a visit with Somalis, Gabras and other ethnic groups.
'We all have pictures of us in hats and accepting other gifts. As was pointed out to me earlier, we try on Christmas gifts, sometimes that we may not want to keep, but we try them on as being a grateful recipient. Senator Obama did what any leader should do: accepted the gift, accepted the hospitality, accepted that token of friendship and he did it in a way that showed respect and helped build the bridges that he does so well,' Gration said."
Clinton, a Southern Governor, campaigned as a moderate. He came from the Democratic Leadership Council (I believe that is the right name), a moderate strain of the party that looked to get past the rut the party was in on account of losing national elections due to liberalism.
He campaigned on tax cuts, free trade, and balanced budgets...traditional GOP issues. He had Wall Street friendly economic interests. For all the faults of the Clintons, their 1992 campaign was quite brilliant, in terms of the drastic departure of the Democrats for a couple decades.
The big thing here, is that he governed Arkansas and ran in the primaries with those views. Obama may try to moderate, but his entire voting record in IL and in the Senate are leftwing, and his hyped base is left wing. If he moderates, it will be easy to pick apart, and he risks losing the intense support he has from leftist activists. He will be walking a very thin tight rope to win the general.
