"Mr. P.C." McCain: How he wants our votes but not our introductions
self | 2/27/08 | levotb

Posted on 02/27/2008 7:12:55 PM PST by levotb

John McCain couldn't handle the outstanding rebel-rousing introduction by Cincinnati conservative talk show host, Bill Cunningham the other day--a man the McCain Campaign had hired to introduce the Senator. Instead, Wussie McCain immediately "apologized" profusely to Obama for Cunningham's using Obama's full name over and over during the intro. This shows how "p.c." and how "wussie" John McCain is when it comes to worrying about how the left is going to perceive him. Instead of concentrating on gaining base support which he sorely needs and can't win without, he's playing to the left and saying to conservatives, "S**w you! I can win without you!".

I watched that introduction by Cunningham and there was NOTHING "nasty" or untoward in it. He didn't call the Jewish religion "a gutter religion", and he didn't call New York City "Hymietown"! As I see it, he was asking, "Do we really want a President who, if he is not a Muslim now, is going to (as Obama has said he would) 'cozy up' or "make friends" with Islamic dictators like Iran's dictator?" That was the message I got from Cunningham's words.

The ensuing flap is something McCain probably said "I could care less about", but he should care about it because it's hurting him, big-time, with conservatives who might otherwise be inclined to vote for him. Limbaugh, Hannity et al are rushing to defend one of their own, Bill Cunningham, as well they should. If McCain thinks he's "scored points" with conservatives, he needs to "think again". After McCain's shafting Cunningham following Cunningham's introduction, Cunningham said he "...would never vote for McCain" although he wouldn't vote for Hillary, either.

Besides being a nasty old man, John McCain still doesn’t value the words or accolades from conservatives--even those who have endorsed him. I think conservatives should "return the cold shoulder" towards McCain in November, big-time!

I think McCain is campaigning to be Obama’s running mate.

It is a shame that McCain could not have treated Romney as respectively as he does hill and hussein. Makes me vomit. I saw mccain laugh when a woman called hill a bitch at one of his meetings, and I have seen him lie many, many times. He was downright nasty ugly to Romney.

I am a Hill girl now. She is not as liberal as he is.

McCain is trying to shed the McNasty image.

McCain has always been nasty--to conservatives.

His image is intact.

A lot of people had never heard of Cunningham before this incident. You know, if McCain hadn't made Cunningham famous, I think he might have always been an unknown to most people.

Sounds like things might work out for the best for Cunningham. I'm sure he didn't plan it this way, but . . .

Contrary to these juvenile losers who think degrading politics to it's lowest common denominator is going to win elections.

You mean like McCain did when he repeatedly lied about Romney saying he wanted "timetables" to withdraw from Iraq?

Isn't LYING about your opponent a "lowest common denominator"?

No he’s not, HAL9000! He said he’s not voting for Hillary. Let’s see, Hillaray, Obama, McCain...who does that leave for Mr. Cunningham to pull the lever for? How about...nobody?

It is a shame that McCain could not have treated Romney as respectively as he does hill and hussein.

And his supporters.

I don't remember seeing any of these new McCainiac PC freepers scolding others for calling Romney "Willard." But calling Obama "Hussein" an outrage to them. I don't get it. (I'd expect it at the dailykos or some democrat site).

Ha! Ha! Never bothered to listen to him on Sunday night after he replaced Drudge, sounds like now he may be worth a listen.

You forgot George Felix Allen. The nut case Democrat opponent in the Virginia Senate race always used his middle name to mock him.
I must have missed the outrage in the MSM when that happened. After all, they had the MACACA comment to elevate the debate.

And the brilliant Ann Coulter would be with you. I will venture to guess that as the campaign continues, McCain is going to continue to decry and p*ss off conservatives to where he’ll only have the RINOs and Indies and a few Dems backing him. I think they call it “suicidal”. And some conservatives might just vote for Hillary to keep McCain’s finger off the nuclear trigger. I think you’re right about the “conservatives for Hillary” thing...Politics indeed makes strange bedfellows.
