McCain's Response to obama on AQ in Iraq
2/27/08 | HMV

We've all heard the bantor between McCain and Obama about Al Qaeda in Iraq.

McCain needs to to respond to Obama like this: "Senator Obama, Al Qaeda was in Iraq long before congress authorized President and a coalition of over 20 countries to invade Iraq and implement Bill Clinton's official policy of regime change there.

We know that Al Zarqawi, the AQ in Iraq leader who was killed in Iraq in the summer of 2006, was operating from Iraq long before we invaded there, there is knowledge of his presence there prior to 2000.

What is significant, though, is that, thank God, Al Qaeda has put a huge portion of their energies into attacking our soldiers in Iraq, instead of orchestrating attacks inside the United States against our civilian population, like they did on 9/11.

Al Qaeda has paid a terrible price in Iraq, they are significantly weaker, but they won't go away if we do. In fact, they will only get stronger and more emboldened if we abandon Iraq as you propose.

If we pull out, we lose. Even more importantly, if we pull out, the Iraqi people lose. As tragic as our troop loses have been, they've suffered at least 20 times more causualties at the hands of Al Qaeda. We have a moral obligation to stand by them until they are fully ready to stand on their own.

After World War Two, we made troop commitments to Germany and Japan that were well in excess of what we retain in Iraq today. In fact, we still have significant commitments there today. We have been gracious victors who have befriended and protected those who we've defeated. We have the same moral commitment to the Iraqi people, especially given the suffering they've at the hands of Saddam Hussein, as well as at the hands of Al Quada."

Not a bad response, but McCain will never use it, so the issue is moot.

The Left can’t handle the truth, they cover their collective ears like children and shout blah blah blah.

But the facts are the facts. And they need to be repeated.

Apparently Barack Hussein Obama didn’t see “60 Minutes”
several weeks ago.

There was a segment about an FBI agent of Syrian ancestry who was assigned to befriend and question Saddam Hussein when he, Hussein, was being held in prison in Iraq during the former dictator’s trial. The FBI agent is fluent in Arabic, and Hussein told the G man that he, Hussein, intended to re-start all of his weapons of mass destruction programs had he stayed in power. Sounds like a vindication of Bush’s decision.

Do you think McCain will be firm in a debate with the stupid Obama. I think McCain is a million times smarter and more up to date on the issues like the war and AQ.

It appears that the general election will be a bus race between the Straight Talk Express and the Smooth Talk Express.

First Obama says he would withdraw from Iraq and only send troops back if Al Qaeda returns.

Then he admits McCain is right(while blaming him and Bush), that Al Qaeda is already there.

He's contradicting himself and just makes no sense.
Obama is really not too bright.

I noticed this too. The media has apparently given him a pass on this, though..

McCain won't even demand an apology from B. Hussein Obama for his daily lies!

Hussein smears and slanders McCain every day with his LIE,,,,yes BLATANT LIE,,,,that McCain wants a "100 YEAR WAR"!!! Why doesn't McCain DEMAND an apology from Hussein--as Hussein knows better, McCain has never said that!

Unless Hussein cannot distinguish between a 'PRESENCE' with a friendly government and a 'WAR',,,,he is blatantly lying his butt off every day,,,,and he doesn't apologize. I guess that Hussein must think we are still at war then with Japan, Germany and Italy.

Why doesn't McCain demand an apology from Hussein for his blatant, unconscionable, repeated lying? (And yet McCain apologies for a supporter stating a fact)!

If McCain won't even demand an apology for repeated, blatant, UNCONSCIONABLE lies about himself (while Hussein continues to plant that bogus seed daily in the minds of the American people)--get ready for President B. Hussein Obama.

Unbelievable.

The papers reporting on McCain's actual comment state:
It started when McCain responded to Obama's statement in last night's Democratic debate that he would reserve the right to strike against Al Qaeda figures in Iraq after withdrawing American troops from the country.

"Is Senator Obama unaware that Al Qaeda is still present in Iraq, that our forces are successfully fighting them every day, and that his Iraq policy of withdrawal would embolden Al Qaeda and weaken our security?" McCain asked in a statement. "Where is the audacity of hope when it comes to backing the success of our troops all the way to victory in Iraq? What we heard last night was the timidity of despair."

I thought that was a pretty damning statement using Obama's own rhetoric back at him and illustrating the Obama's "audacity" is only elligable when leftist causes summmon it.

I have my problems with McCain, but I also have a son in the sandbox.

I probably should have added that the proof of the effectiveness and cutting ability of the comment is that I heard no networks repeat it. They only gave lip service to McCain’s critique as starting an exchange and highlighted Obama’s response.

After World War Two, we made troop commitments to Germany and Japan that were well in excess of what we retain in Iraq today.

Exactly.

W. Germany and Japan were not invaded by Communists, because we kept our troops in those countries.

On the other hand, under Truman, we pulled our troops out of S. Korea in 1949. After SK was invaded and occupied by the Communists in 1950, Truman sent Americans back to Korea to re-win freedom for that country.

30,000 Americans died in Korea in 30 months under Truman, because he wasn't smart enough to keep troops in SK in 1949.

Barack NoBrain Obama thinks we can abandon a country and win it back with little trouble.

The problem Johm McCain runs into 2with this approach is the fatc that the majority of voting Maeircans don’t realize that even the enemy has an expense factor for the war they wage. we hear from the DNC sycophantic media that the war is octing all of us “X” amount per person, but we never hear about the truth that the damned demonspawn of allah, al quaeda (funded by Saudis, mostly ... dammit, Bandar, stop that craqp!), also have costs. They’re spending it in Iraq, nt in training bands of terrorists to murder Americans in the continental US. Yes, they have trainees, but their majority of funds are spent on Iraq! The meida doens’t want AMericans thinking about that or even aware of it.

The final race for POTUS is between Obama and McCain: Two people that the majority of voters may not want in the WH by the time that November 4 is a reality. This will be an interesting situation on November 4, and we all have a ways to go yet.
