Didn’t Kaine make a habit of calling George Allen “George Felix Allen” as a way to allude to Allen’s heritage?
Good catch!
Or George Felix Allen.
I agree.
I agree. I remember 2004 and being approached by some pro-Kerry types on the street. But they weren’t so much pro-Kerry as anti-Bush.
I aked them why I should vote for Kerry. They said so that we would be rid of Bush. I thought and said that it wasn’t good enough to be against something.
You need to present a positive alternative. Kerry failed to do that, dismally. McCain must do it, but I fear he can’t.
“The man’s name is Barack Hussein Obama”
Not correct. That was his fathers name.
His name is....
Barack Hussein Obama Jr.
Bush was often incorrectly referred to as a Jr. of course.
Conservatives and Republicans: Get a backbone and stand against the intimidation of the left.
In my opinion we, as a nation, haven’t voted “for” a President since Reagan.
Obviously McCain can’t call his future boss Hussein, but we can. I know it is hard for a mean, old dog to be nice, but McCain ought to quit barking at people who are having a little fun. This is free, political speech John, what is left of it.
Our first black President was named after the President of the Confederacy?
Ironic, ain't it?
I’ve seen reels of campaign ads throught the years. The “Daisy” ad only aired one time (for LBJ, against AuH2O).
There were other more shocking ads trying to tie Goldwater to the KKK.
Libs have a memory that Stalin would approve of. Revisionist.
Obama and Hillary are out and out socialists. We are told they want “change” but are not told what they want to change this nation into. This is a discussion that will not be permitted in the media.
Someone did, and the conservatives here in Virginia castigated the tactic.
Pretty hypocritical of us to now embrace it.
McCain did NOT bark at anybody else. It was HIS CAMPAIGN RALLY, and HE apologized for what was said at HIS Rally.
If McCain doesn’t want to use childish-namecalling, that’s both his right, and it’s a good thing.
“If McCain doesnt want to use childish-namecalling, thats both his right, and its a good thing.”
Was it name calling? That’s an odd and silly way to describe the use of someone’s middle name.
You are exactly right though. McCain can lose this thing anyway he chooses to do it. He should avoid asking conservative talk show hosts to stir up his crowds, if he doesn’t want them to go after his fellow Democrats.
No, it's the last name of the Jewish former prime minister of Israel.
It’s Arabic. The equivalent Hebrew name is “Baruch”.
exactly
obama is a racist and he hangs around with racists , he is married to a racist based oinher writings about the white man.
there was john quincy adams, they named a city after him in massachusetts
how about hillary rodham clinton
when are we going to stop letting libs dictate to the country what is right and what is wrong.
ever wondered this
my son who is 10 was in school being told about black history month
he stood up in front of the class and said why do people refer to blacks as african americans
the teachers there was two present in the room stated well because they are from africa originally
my son stands his ground and states
well they might be but there is also white africans in the north and in the south
the teachers looked puzzled and accpeted that my 10 year old son was in fact correct ansd that they never thought of it like that
so in essence why are blacks referred to as africans when whites too are african
I know of two south africans who are white and they became americans so they are too african americans but they are white
food for thought and I am proud of my oldest son for standing his ground and actually thinking instead of being a sheep
It is common courtesy to call people by the names they generally use to address themselves. If someone for example uses their middle name, it is impolite and childish to keep calling them by their first name.
I will note a lot of “conservatives” took great pleasure in calling Mitt Romney by his unused name “Willard” because they thought it sounded funny. The Democrats in Virginia loved to call George Allen “Felix” because that was his middle name, and they thought it was funny.
If Barack Obama wants to not use his middle name, then that’s how we should address him.
I know I’m not in the mainstream on this whole name-calling issue. I love listening to Mark Levin, who is a brilliant man, but his use of childish name-calling to refer to all his opponents almosts makes his show unbearable for me, and worse I think detracts from serious issues he is bringing up.
Rush does the same thing, but not quite as much. Sure, it’s “entertaining” to make fun of people, but McCain is running for President, and wants to debate on the issues, and the issues do not include if Hillary Clinton has big thighs, or what middle name Barack’s parents gave him.
Realise that McCain is a Senator, and Barack is a fellow Senator he has worked with. He considers it a matter of honor that he treat fellow senators with some modicum of respect. To some degree that seems to be more of a generational thing, the young people today mostly seem to have lost this ability — and worse, to fault those of us who still have it as being “politically correct”, when in fact it’s not PC, it’s called “civility”.
Anyway, sorry to get off on one of those grumpy old men arguments.
