I have a little story to tell you all. Its hard to be in short form but I will try.
I had to be at the Courthouse on Wednesday to pay my County taxes and after I got everything done I was walking toward the door and this service man looked back and held the door open until I got there and through the door. I just had to ask “You are serving our country, aren’t you?” and he said yes he was and I wasn’t sure what branch and so I asked and he said “I am in the U.S. Marines”. I reached out my hand and told him I wanted to thank him personally for serving our country and that we were so proud of him and all who are keeping us safe. He had the biggest, sweetest smile! We walked on together as there is a little creek between the Courthouse and the parking lot and there is a cute little bridge. I asked him how long he had been in the Marines and he said ‘17 years and he would retire in 3 more years’. I told him about my husband serving 4 years in the Navy and how we had wished sometimes that he would have served 20 years because he would have still been very young. I thanked him once again when we got to my car and I just had this wonderful feeling all day long about meeting this sweet guy and what a gentleman he truly was. It just made my day!
I knew all of you would want to hear my little joyful story!
Later, I will tell you a horrible story of murder in this little city this week which has rocked this town.
That’s so uplifting Jaycee. A day maker for certain!
God bless this Marine..I know he appreciated your thanking him,too..Joyful indeed!

What a sweet story! I needed something like that to make my day better, and I just had a smile reading it.
I work in the mall and whenever a service man/woman or their family members come in to purchase or to look, I try to always say “thank you”. Their eyes never fail to light up when I do so.
Thank you Jaycee!
What a sweet story, jaycee. It made me smile.
