Clinton Camp Memo on Obama Expectations (He Must Win all 4 States or She Stays In)

Clinton campaign memo highlights Obama’s winning-streak momentum, ad outspending in Texas, Ohio, Vermont and Rhode Island, says if he can’t win all four, then the message that Democrats are “having second thoughts” is clear. Read it here.

RE: Obama Must-Wins

The media has anointed Barack Obama the presumptive nominee and he’s playing the part.

With an eleven state winning streak coming out of February, Senator Obama is riding a surge of momentum that has enabled him to pour unprecedented resources into Texas, Ohio, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The Obama campaign and its allies are outspending us two to one in paid media and have sent more staff into the March 4 states. In fact, when all is totaled, Senator Obama and his allies have outspent Senator Clinton by a margin of $18.4 million to $9.2 million on advertising in the four states that are voting next Tuesday.

Senator Obama has campaigned hard in these states. He has spent time meeting editorial boards, courting endorsers, holding rallies, and - of course - making speeches.

If he cannot win all of these states with all this effort, there’s a problem.

Should Senator Obama fail to score decisive victories with all of the resources and effort he is bringing to bear, the message will be clear:

Democrats, the majority of whom have favored Hillary in the primary contests held to date, have their doubts about Senator Obama and are having second thoughts about him as a prospective standard-bearer.

If Hillary were the Athletic Director at the Univ. of Washington, the annual basketball rivalry between UW and Gonzaga would not have been suspended.

UW "suspended" the series, primarily due to the fact that Gonzaga had won 8 of 9 going into last season's match, which Gonzaga won.

Hillary's saying here that she'll fight on, in the midst of 12 state losing streak. Only if it goes to 16 will she consider ending her campaign.

Fight on, Hillary!

I actually have no idea, but it's completely irrelevant. They are so small as to be insignificant, same with Rhode Island.

If she loses either Texas or Ohio, she's officially done. It's a joke for her camp to pretend otherwise.

This is great. Not only does he have to win all four, he must do it DECISIVELY. Who said she was about to quit?

That is why it is foolish for Republicans to cross over and vote for her in Texas and Ohio, she is not going to quit no mater what. Better to bury her furthermore in delegates deficit so she goes the convention way behind in pledged delegates and tries to steal the nomination via Super Delegates or by forcing Florida and Michigan delegates.

Hillary will win Ohio and that will give her enough reason to stay in for Pennsylvania. Trust me..she has enough super delegates in the house she knows she can handle losing Texas, Vermont, and Rhode Island if she scores a win in OH. It shows she has strength still and that is all the juice she needs.

She thinks she is our destiny. that the presidency is her right. Hopefully the voters will show her the path. Unfortunately it is up to her to choose whether to go towards the light and drop out or toward the dark side. I would bet the dark side.

I think the Senate Rats will go to Hillary and offer her any chairmanship she wants in return for dropping out and endorsing Obama.

She has spent $150 million and is looking Chris Dodd-like in her losing streak. She is claiming she brought in $35 mill last month? I find that hard to believe that even the dimmest bulb on the Dem side would dump more money down her rat hole.
