I hope they didn’t figure we would ignore the facts before our eyes.

And yet when we have a mild winter the global warming fanatics cite that as clear cut proof of their theory.
To: jdm
The cold spell is just “good old-fashioned weather,” you see, while periods of balmy temps are “anthropogenic global warming” from which we’re all gonna die. Now get outta here while we Scientists come to a consensus.

Moderate temperatures prove that change is happening. Get in your prius and look down on the scum that aren’t as eco-friendly. You save the earth because you are wonderful, no , extraordinary. I can’t imagine how we ever got along without you. Can algore sign my mask?

Lemme guess, NOW we shouldn’t be predicting long term world weather based on a short period of time? BWAHAHAHAHA.

Climate Skeptics Seize on Cold SpellBut the AGW socialists weren't seizing on a slight warming trend with questionable data to advance their agenda.
Noooo, they were just doing the right thing for our own good. /sarcasm

I think the Fabians have already declared that global cooling can be a symptom of Global Warming, and that storms will become more severe, or maybe not.

Wow, the global warming alarmist will not let go of their believe in man made global warming no matter what. If rising carbon dioxide causes global warming, that the trend must be up. Unfortunately, we in the USA, have all the politicians drinking from the same kool aid. Get ready everyone, first MPG, than allowable house size, than how much heat you are allowed during the winter, etc.

NYT: “Many scientists also say that the cool spell in no
way undermines the enormous body of evidence pointing to
[Global Hot Air]”
“Many” is an interesting word. Note that it is not “an
overwhelming majority of”, “a majority of”, or even “most”.
Al Gore’s EnviroSin Dispensation (Carbon Credit) sales
must be off, and he asked Pinch to do something about it.

“The world has seen some extraordinary winter conditions in both hemispheres over the past year: snow in Johannesburg last June and in Baghdad in January, Arctic sea ice returning with a vengeance after a record retreat last summer, paralyzing blizzards in China, and a sharp drop in the globes average temperature.”
If the global temperature keeps dropping, it will be -100F in about a hundred years.
In 200 years it will be -1000F.

Patrick J. Michaels, a climatologist and commentator with the libertarian Cato Institute in Washington, has long chided environmentalists and the media for overstating connections between extreme weather and human-caused warming. (He is on the program at the skeptics conference.) But Dr. Michaels said that those now trumpeting global cooling should beware of doing the same thing, saying that the predictable distortion of extreme weather goes in both directions.
Michaels is cynically trying to appear sensible. We know all skeptics are loony, and he tries to hide that.

"...and a sharp drop in the globes average temperature.
I would guess that there was not a sharp drop in the amount of greenhouse gasses in the global atmosphere last year. Yet the temperature did show a sharp drop. These facts suggest to my analytical mind that something else in the weather system caused the drop. This same something else or another something else could be the cause of any temperature increase. My guess in that ole Sol is the major player here and not greenhouse gasses.

Talking to a woman the other day, I learned her mother is visiting her from Wisconsin here in Ohio. When the woman spoke of the snow and cold, her mother looked at her and began speaking of snow piled high and packed down on both sides of the road, higher than semi trucks. I guess the mother gave her one of those motherly “Oh please” looks.
Then there was the discussion about the amount of snow on people’s roofs and the getting up on the snow in order to get snow off the roof, and so forth.
Sounds like the ultimate snow fort to me.
