I Think It's Time To Ask: Will Barack Obama Institute A Draft?
Right Wing News ^ | March 03, 2008 | by John Hawkins

During the 2004 elections, liberals claimed over and over again that George Bush was going to institute a draft.

They never provided any evidence that he intended to do that and moreover, George Bush and other Republicans said, over and over again, that they were absolutely opposed to a draft.

In fact, the only people who ever seem to advocate a draft or for that matter, talk about a draft at all, are liberals.

Now, we have the same thing happening in 2008. Over at the Huffington Post, Paul Abrams is suggesting that McCain is going to implement a draft,

AttenTION: A McCain Presidency Guarantees a Military Draft

...He will not tell you this, but here is the answer: he will have to call for a military draft, period. The military would prefer not to do it, draftees are more difficult to train and form into cohesive fighting forces. But, there is no other way to fight all his wars, at the level he wishes to fight them. No, McCain is not joking about his war policies. He just will not tell the truth about the implications. He will, of course, deny vigorously when challenged that they require a military draft.

But, that's what simple addition compels. Today's second-graders, who will 10 years hence be called by McCain's draft, could teach him that.

Obviously, this isn't true and furthermore, if anyone were to call for a draft, it would be Barack Obama, not John McCain.

Think about it.

Liberals are the only people who seem to support the idea of a draft these days. Furthermore, Obama isn't going to immediately pull out of Iraq, he wants to fight in Afghanistan, and he has suggested that he might invade Pakistan.

Plus, when you hear a guy constantly talking about big changes that he has in mind without telling you what they are, well, it's hard to know exactly what he might do, isn't it?

So, is Obama going to implement a draft? It seems unlikely, but it's certainly much more likely than McCain implementing a draft. So, if this is going to be an issue, perhaps we should treat Obama the way liberals did in 2004.

You know, constantly tell anyone who'll listen that he's going to implement a draft, ask him to deny it and then say we don't believe it when he does, and then write stories talking about how people are wondering whether he'll implement a draft without pointing out that he's not going to do it.

Oh wait, that's what dirtbags with no integrity or honor would do. Never mind.

Well...you can ask.

Barack Obama really has no idea what he’ll do.

They would almost have to bring back the draft. People wouldn’t volunteer to serve under Obama or Billary.

Mr. Obama has called for nearly 100,000 more Marines and soldiers to be brought on board, if he is elected.

A draft may well be necessary, although a higher unemployment figure might make military service more inviting to desparate job seekers.

Talk of a draft from the radical left, at this point, is just their filthy politics in play as usual, nothing new. Always remember, that LIBERALS ACCUSE THEIR OPPONENTS OF DOING EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO.

Right out of the liberal play book.

without a draft there is little reason for the anti-military types to protest...a draft is a MUST for the far left, in order to give them leverage in the WOT...right now they have no leverage or power....therefore, the draft will be re-institued under a dem president and congress

Well, he’s for “change,” and there’s no draft, so to change things he would need to institute a draft.

He'll need that many to protect D.C.

Kerry called for the equivalent of a draft on his campaign website. In return for two years mandatory government service (the word danger was worked in somehow) we’d get four years of college. The webpage was changed later when the MSM started their Bush Wants A Draft chant.

Funny how rats blame others for their own desires.

Anyway, the pages may still be in the wayback machine at Archive.org.

The only draft that guy could establish would be if he left the front door open.

Besides, Mr. Obama has NO idea of what he would do as president because he doesn’t stand for anything except more government and abortions.

The man has no sand.

We have 10 active Army Divisions at this time.
We didn’t need a draft when we had around 20 or 24 Army Divisions in the 1970’s and 80’s.. And our population is 100 million more than the 70’s.

There are 2 reasons the liberals want a Draft:

1. As you stated, a Draft gives them something to hang their anti-War protests on, and

2. It allows them to extend the social indoctrination of the public school systems to those that don’t go to college (at least not right away).

3. Provisional reason: it allows them to fight THEIR wars. This is a self-deception because large Draft Armies are always better looking on paper than they are in fact. But hey, they’re cheaper.

NY SUN: RANGEL VOTES AGAINST OWN BILL TO RENEW DRAFT

WASHINGTON - The House of Representatives yesterday voted overwhelmingly against a proposal to reinstate the military draft, in what some members said was an attempt to end rumors that the Bush administration has a “secret plan” to draft young people after the November elections.
(snip)
Rep. Charles Rangel, a Democrat of New York, helped defeat the legislation he had introduced in January 2003, and which Republican leaders put to a quick and unexpected vote yesterday.

Mr. Rangel, a veteran of the Korean War, said it was a “disgrace” that the proposed Universal National Service Act received only 40 minutes of debate.

Foul! You can't ask that! That's racist. Unless you're asking about his white half.

Of course. The last thing that Obama wants in the military are people who want to be there!
