Who knows how, but it ainít over yet (Hildabeast)
Boston Herald ^ | 3/5/08 | Howie Carr

Posted on 03/05/2008 1:10:11 AM PST by xtinct

Who would have figured it? All the mud that the Clintons threw at Barack Obama - the Iowa coordinators spreading the rumors that he was a Muslim, Billy Shaheen in New Hampshire intimating that he was a drug dealer, Bob Kerrey endlessly repeating his middle name, “Hussein.”

All for naught but, finally, a Hail Mary pass, what amounted to a Republican ad, stressing Barack’s limp-wristed, Code Pink politics. The spot was based on the most unlikely scenario imaginable - that Democratic primary voters actually gave a hoot about national security.

But it worked. Or something worked. And suddenly, she’s back in the fight. She even took Rhode Island. This means that in the states where Gov. Deval Patrick is seen on the local TV news every evening, Barack Obama is now 0-for-3. Ted and Patches Kennedy and John Kerry once again showed that they too have long coattails -for Hillary.

Yes we can - learn from our terrible error in the 2006 governors race!

Hillary Clinton isn’t the new Comeback Kid. She’s the next Freddie Krueger. And the Pennsylvania primary may well be Barack’s Nightmare on the Main Line.

We will have Hillary Clinton to kick around some more. Nobody wants to write the obituaries for the Clinton dynasty quite yet. This has been just too much fun, watching Hillary twist slowly, slowly in the wind. Because she is in so many ways the female Richard Nixon - unlikable, shrill, phony, stiff, self-pitying and more than a little shady.

pity that the choices are so mediocre.

Senator Hillary Clinton isn’t fit to shine President Nixon’s shoes. Say what you will of Richard Nixon, but he was a patriot, a World War II Navy veteran, a forceful anti-communist and a first-rate political tactician. Mrs. Clinton is the exact opposite of all those things.

Well said. Nixon’s great crime involved a stupid break-in at DNC headquarters. It’s funny how most people think he murdered someone and really don’t know what Watergate was about.

It will be something and I don't think it matters much what it is. The Clintons will probably take him out with the supers and Michigan and Florida at the convention. I do hope the apparent delegate count stays in Hussein's favor up until the convention so that the Clintons can take it away undemocratically but very Democratly.

Very interesting that Bill wasn’t even on the stage with her last night. Notice, too, how he’s stayed out of the news for several weeks.

It seems to have worked. As long as voters aren’t reminded of “two for the price of one”, they forget that she brings a lot of baggage with her. The Toons fooled ‘em again.

While we’re all sitting around, watching Mrs. Clinton’s swearing-in, I am going to go house-to-house of every FReeper and conservative to advocated keeping her in this race to personally call them an insulting name, which can not be posted here. Starting with Rush Limbaugh and working my way down.

Time to start making a list, and checking it twice...

Anybody who advocated for Mrs. Clinton, how about saving me some time and effort and just ‘fess up? When I am wrong, I admit it.

The Clinton ‘hate factor’ just needs motivation to show up in November, more likely than counting on the 20% Democrats who ‘won’t vote for a black man’.

There’s a possibility of an ultimate happy ending here; if KKKlintler can win by gaming the system, the dem party will implode and could actually end up being replaced by some third party.

We had a chance, but we had to get all cute.

Politics ain't Beanbag, but it sure as Hell ain't Brain Surgery. You can't release the Beast and know what is gonna happen to the nth degree. Instead of destroying the Democrat Party, it is far more likely it will do what the Beast does, which is kick our ass.

Sometimes I think some people just get bored with winning, and have to kick the hornet's nest just for excitement. Such people are idiots.

NEWS FLASH: THE DEMOCRATS DO NOT WANT TO IMPLODE!

People act like the Democrat Party is a train, or a river, or something without a mind. They are evil, not stupid. They will find a way to mend this rift, and they are going to come after us, hard.

We’re basically screwed at this point.

You're premise is that there is a difference between Hillary ( Chairman Mao) and Obama (Stalin ).

This is like asking: "Do you want to be murdered or shot first?"

Give Rush a break, his sole point the past few days is how to defeat both of them. There are no good options here,

McCain isn't doing any thing. The only option left is a 1968 DNC convention with riots in the streets.

obama in the WH would be worse than hillary, especially on national security. There is still a good chance he can win and that is very risky. So I can see why conservatives would rather deal with hillary

but hey don’t blame me. I voted for Huckabee in NY because I’d rather make the GOP more conservative than weaken the democrats

Why do the goalposts keep moving? I thought in order to stay alive, she not only had to win, but she had to win something like 70/30. Now she barely squeaks out a couple of wins and she’s a major contender all of a sudden.

Nobody is going to go out into the streets and walk door-to-door to work to elect the mean, old, liberal bastard from Arizona.

People who want a liberal will have a Democrat to vote for.

McCain's problem is nobody likes the guy. The electorate is too evenly divided to have a hold-your-nose guy like McCain win the election.

We can dream, but it ain't gonna happen. I occasionally put on the deep sea diving suit and go over to DU, and I read the same kinds of threads there that I read here. "Hillary's evil", "Obama's an empty suit", but the threads are posted by their opponent's supporters, and they all contain threats not to vote or to join a third party if the poster's choice isn't nominated (sounds like us with McCain, huh?). Anyone with a nickel's worth of sense knows that a leopard doesn't change it's spots, and that the DUmmies aren't going to abandon the Democrat Party, since it's the only avenue to power that they really have (often expresses as "Where else are they gonna go"?)
