Brazile: Howard Dean And Other Party Leaders Should Be Prepared To Step In By Greg Sargent - March 5, 2008, 9:22AM

Despite Hillary's big wins in Ohio and Texas last night, some super-delegates are already suggesting that a continued contest risks damaging the party and are calling on Howard Dean and other party leaders to be ready to intervene should the race get dirtier:

"Despite Obama's impressive victories in February, Clinton's comeback is based on sowing political seeds of doubt," said Donna Brazile, a Democratic strategist and one of nearly 800 party leaders known as superdelegates for their ability to determine the nomination. "In order to clinch the nomination, he must anticipate the worst attacks ever."...

Some superdelegates are bracing themselves to intervene on Obama's behalf if necessary.

"If these attacks are contrasts based on policy differences, there is no need to stop the race or halt the debate," Brazile said. "But, if this is more division, more diversion from the issues and more of the same politics of personal destruction, chairman Dean and other should be on standby."

Consider that a harbinger of what we're likely to hear from other super-delegates if the race gets uglier without significantly altering the underlying pledged-delegate imbalance between the two candidates.

Pass the popcorn. This is exactly the purpose to keep Hilly in.

The last thing the Democrat Party power structure wants is a colored person in any real position of power. Expect some cigar smoke-filled room, white-sheeted dirty politics that’s gonna screw B. Hussein Obama.

Ironic that Donna (I have my own gravitational pull) Brazile would attack the candidacy of the very people who made her what she is.

The beast and pervert have to be going completely nuts over the turncoats they made household names stabbing them in the back.

Why is that every time I see Donna Brazile on TV, I have to stop to make sure it is not Teddy Kennedy in drag & heavy stage makeup.

I don’t think this race will go all the way to the convention. If Hillary wins Pennsylvania by the same margin she wins Ohio (and the demographics of PA are very similar to OH) then I think the party leaders will step in and the superdelegates will anoint Hillary as the nominee with Obama as the VP. And that will be an extremely tough ticket to beat.

In fact Hillary Clinton won Ohio via the RACIST VOTE. 20% of voters in Ohio said that race was an important factor in their vote, among those 80% went for the White woman. 80% of 20% correspond to 16% point margin in the total vote, Hillary Clinton win Ohio by 10%. Without the RACIST VOTE she would have lost Ohio or may be won it by 2% points.

“Clinton’s comeback is based on sowing political seeds of doubt”

That’s just a weird thing to say. Isn’t that what all campaigning is about, sowing seeds of doubt about your opponent?

“Hillary as the nominee with Obama as the VP. And that will be an extremely tough ticket to beat.”

I disagree. I think it’s the best case for the Republicans. Hillary! has high negatives. Barack-star has high negatives. They aren’t the same negatives. I think a Clinton-Obama ticket has something for everyone to dislike.

Yes, step in, please: continue to show the voters how you don’t trust the people with their votes. Let them see the party’s “Leadership Committee” overtly choosing the nominee. Enough of this “behind the scenes” arrangement. Get the corruption out in the open.

And if you REALLY want to know the truth, those back-room Dems don’t want a WOMAN, either, so they are screwed whichever way they go. Pass the popcorn pleas... but stay out of Denver during the Dem convention.

It is insanity to keep Hillary in. We (conservative Republicans) should do everything in our power right now to knock her out of contention.

After all, if Hillary wins .... all she has to do is select Obama as VP.... and all the in-fighting... all the Democratic bickering between blacks and whites, or feminists and civil rightists, will be 99% forgotten.

A Clinton/Obama ticket will be hard to beat, considering the new younger enthusiasm and the additional urban black voters who will be registering and voting in record numbers.

On the other hand, if Obama were to win, he has MUCH less to gain by selecting Hillary as VP —— if Hillary would even accept such a “demotion”, which I don’t think she will.

This morning, on Fox & Friends, Hillary told Rush Limbaugh “be careful what you wish for” in urging Republicans to cross over and support Hillary.

Hillary is exactly right.
