North Korean leader Kim Jong Il hopes for stronger friendship with Syria, the Norths official news agency reported Saturday, amid lingering suspicions of a secret nuclear connection between the two countries.
Kim expressed the hope in a message to Syrian President Bashar Assad on the anniversary of a 1963 coup that brought Syrias Baath Arab Socialist Party to power, the Norths Korean Central News Agency reported. (AP)

“Many injured in Greek train crash”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “A train has derailed in central Greece, leaving at least 23 people injured, according to police.
The train, reportedly heading to the north-eastern town of Alexandroupolis from Athens, is said to have come off the tracks near the town of Larissa.”
