Terri Schiavo's Family Launches New Radio Program on Protecting the Disabled

Tampa, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The foundation that Terri Schiavo's family created after her death is continuing its efforts to help the elderly and disabled obtain appropriate medical care. The foundation is launching a new radio program on a Tampa station that will be simulcast on the Internet and later expanded to other Florida stations.

The Terri Schindler Schiavo Foundation will start the new America's Lifeline program this weekend life from the Tampa studios of Talk Radio 860 WGUL, a Christian station.

Prominent radio health care advocate Cary Hall will co-sponsor the program along with Terri's brother Bobby Schinder and her sister Suzanne Vitadamo, the foundation's directors.

Hall is also the host of a successful radio show called The Health Insurance Advocate which broadcasts from two Midwest stations.

"America's Lifeline is something we've wanted to do for some time," Vitadamo told LifeNews.com on Thursday.

"With Cary Hall's health care expertise my family's experience trying to save Terri, and now running her foundation which works to save those like Terri, we'll be able to educate Americans and raise awareness about the euthanasia movement like never before," she added.

Vitadamo said the program would focus on controversial cases of people who have been subjected to potential euthanasia or denial of lifesaving medical treatment, such as Lauren Richardson in Delaware.

It will help people learn about the best advanced directives for treatment, learn about the dangers of assisted suicide, focus on state and federal laws and explain how hospice care can be helpful.

The program will also delve into the controversial futile care theory whereby hospitals and doctors are more routinely giving up on providing care for patients they consider "too far gone."

The America's Lifeline debut is set for 3 PM EST on Saturday, March 15, 2008 and it will also be streamed worldwide via the Internet at http://860wgul.townhall.com.

The program is poised to expand into other Florida radio markets including Orlando and Miami.

Hopefully in Lauren’s case “silence is golden,” we would certainly have heard if the judge had ordered her death.

Yes, "sinister" means evil and comes from the Latin, left. Ergo, leftist thought is by definition evil. Figures. It fits in this thread by wagglebee on how the leftists view prenatal testing.

Prenatal testing, originally designed as a precautionary measure to identify potential problems in the early stages of pregnancy, allowed for corrective measures to be taken to ensure a healthier pregnancy and child. With the legalization of abortion in the United States in 1973, the testing took on a more sinister purpose.

Some of these prenatal tests were used to also encourage abortion. The pro-life community called these "search-and-destroy" tests. Specifically, the prenatal test is used to diagnose an unborn child's potential malady and allow the mother the option to abort that child.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology (ACOG) has led the medical community in the advocacy of abortion. For that reason, it did not come as a surprise to find ACOG's wholehearted endorsement of "search-and-destroy" testing............

I hope so too for Lauren's sake. In the case of poor Sam Golubchuk, it was not. And in the case of Haleigh Poutre, every time something happens, The Republican of Massachusetts is right on top of it, so nothing slips through.

If Sam’s case doesn’t demonstrate the inherent flaw in socialized medicine, nothing will.

It sure unmasks the grim determination of the death forces to secure this kill. Were it simply a difference of opinion or perspective as the media would have us believe, they would shrug, "OK" and wait for the courts to settle it. But oh no, they want their kill and will not be denied.

Remember three years ago how desperate the killing crew was to ensure Terri had no chance at all. They even posted police to guard the process, to ensure not a drop of moisture touch her lips. Killing and blood lust meant that much to them. Socialism encourages the killers.

Socialism encourages the killers.

And NOBODY should be surprised.

Not counting actual combat deaths in wars fought to fight socialism, socialism is directly responsible for WELL OVER ONE BILLION DEATHS in the last century (this includes abortion). To help put that in perspective, the population of the world in 1900 was about 1.65 billion.

Lauren Richardson...

Thanks, Les, for the tip and for the uplift. To get a sense what is happening, click on the link to the testimonial page for Lauren.

..............................

FEELING BLUE?

Need a boost to get your day going and heart focused
on Him?

I've been thinking and praying today about Lauren Richardson.
For the first time I found my way to the testimonial page on her web site.

Let your heart be blessed by the love, dedication and hope in these individual's stories of their disabled loved ones.

Take a moment to Praise the Lord for dear souls like these, who love in spite of the obstacles and persevere when the system tells them to give up.

These are the kinds of hearts that established America's hospitals, before they became money driven.

Lord, we pray for an outpouring of your love and healing upon Lauren and her family this day.

Touch the heart of the judge in this matter, that he will recognize the value of this beautiful young mom. Let Lauren understand the love and concern pouring forth on her behalf. Bring goodness where some mean for evil to prevail.

LORD, WE LOVE YOU AND PRAISE YOU for every day that you give us to proclaim your mighty name.

FEELING BLUE?

McCain will finish the mission in Iraq. Then, he’ll sign a new amnesty bill and hand our country over to la raza. Meanwhile, who knows about economics? None of the prez candidates. Guess we won’t need economics when la raza’s in charge.

On this day in history three years ago, Terri was the most significant headline of the day. On that day of shame for our country, the forces sanctioned by the State took the first step in the agonizing process pacing the Passion of Easter. Terri shrieked in horror as she understood they were proceeding to kill her. In retrospect the event was surreal, almost beyond belief for any who understood what was really happening. A good percentage of the population happily accepted media lies that it was a good thing to murder innocent Terri. Today is Tuesday in Holy Week for Christians, Catholics.

In 2005, doctors removed the feeding tube keeping Terri Schiavo alive after a wide-ranging fight over the brain-damaged Florida woman's care that involved U.S. President Bush and Congress.

On this date in history:

A lucid view on Eleanor Clift's book in a thread by NotChosenName, on the book we panned earlier...

Thanks LilAngel, for the ping. Visitors to that thread and to threads like it in these days, be wary. The topic brings out detractors.

In a recent interview in the Sunday "NYTimes" magazine, Eleanor Clift, says, re: Terri Schiavo, that her parents and supporters "did not want to accept that she could not be rehabilitated. They found enough people to fool them into thinking she could." This, of course, is completely wrong! Forget "rehabilitation." What Terri's parents and her supporters tried to stop was the MURDER of Terri Schiavo. Alas, they failed -- with no help from people like Eleanor Clift.

It should surprise nobody that the greatest detractors, hoping to sow mass confusion over the issue count on the book by Eleanor Clift to help with their task, offering her experience as if it were a pleasant contrast to the horrors visited upon Terri. Perhaps the poor dumb masses can be sold more of this baloney...

I am not allowed to publish even an extract of this piece as it is part of the Gannett USA Today network. The link is the most I am able to do.

In these days the leftists will try anything that can dull the impact of Terri's Legacy. In the Puffington Host, today, one of that type actually tries to equate the event with the Hussain BO/wrong Wright controversy. Figures.

There's nothing in Senator Obama's past, in his voting record or his writing or his rhetoric, to indicate that he shares Jeremiah Wright's rage against the system. He has, in fact, made it clear he renounces this volatile part of his pastor's message. The way Obama has chosen to live his life would indicate he's telling the truth. Many of us, if we're honest, renounce at least some of what our own pastors preach at us. I'm neither evangelical nor fundamentalist; I'm a mainstream protestant. Contrary to form, my pastor believes all abortion is a mortal sin, a crime. He believes stem cell research is an abomination and that Terri Schiavo was murdered. We disagree, totally, vocally and openly, about these issues. But I can still love this man because the core of his ministry and his hands-on pastoral energy are spent addressing the issues of poverty and homelessness both here and abroad. I do not leave my church family when the broader message is one in which I believe....

"And to the republic, for which it stands, one nation, oh-my-God!..."

Shopping at the Grim Reaper- Marché aux Puces market, in a thread by wagglebee...

DIJON, France, March 17, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A mother of three who lives in the Bourgogne region of Eastern France has had her plea to be euthanized by her doctor rejected by a court in Dijon. The court ruled that French law does not permit a doctor to prescribe lethal drugs to patients.

The case of the 53-year-old woman, Chantal Sebire, has garnered widespread sympathy in France, especially since she appeared on national television and made an appeal to French President Nicholas Sarkozy to intervene on her behalf and accede to her request to be killed. The French President responded by saying that he would convene a panel of specialists to explore possibilities for the treatment of Sebire's condition, an offer that she refused....

Leavitt alone. HSS Secretary disapproves nasty push by the ACOG.

Thread by wagglebee.

In a letter sent to ABOG Executive Director Dr. Norman Grant today asking for clarification, Secretary Leavitt notes, "It appears that the interaction of the [ABOG Bulletin for 2008 Maintenance of Certification] with the ACOG ethics report would force physicians to violate their conscience by referring patients for abortions or taking other objectionable actions, or risk losing their board certification."............

Odd bedfellows and stiffs all around in this odd story, thread by wagglebee.

March 17, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Dignitas euthanasia "clinic" has reopened its doors in a facility located next to Switzerland's largest brothel.

Dignitas, which has repeatedly made international headlines for its unapologetic mission to assist the ill from around the world to kill themselves, was evicted from its previous facility in September of last year after fellow tenants complained of the constant stream of dead bodies leaving the building.......

On this day in history three years ago, Terri was the most significant headline of the day. On that day of shame for our country, the forces sanctioned by the State took the first step in the agonizing process pacing the Passion of Easter.

That it ever got that far and that public opinion was divided still boggles my mind.

We live in a nation where from time to time there is a tragedy like a mining accident where people are trapped and nobody hesitates to do whatever is necessary to rescue them, no expense is spared and the possibility that they are already dead isn't even a consideration.

Contrast that with Terri. She was HEALTHY, she had a record of responding to rehabilitation and the taxpayers weren't being asked for a dime.

As we have shown in threads past, in the year following the initial trauma, itself still carried as a cold case file, she showed remarkable improvement. Pictures we posted showed a Terri sitting up, looking good, alert and recovering from multiple broken bones. Once hubby cashed his winnings from a strange malpractice suit, it all changed, and took another decade and half with the help of like minded to finally kill her. Tough for detractors, she was strong and survived the attempts.

Despite the clouds of lies and half-truths of obfuscation, truth is durable, and will prevail. It was one ugly crime visited upon innocent Terri. It is why we continue with the White Rose.
