Liberal Democrats from the North haven't had much success in recent presidential elections not Hubert Humphrey, not George McGovern, not Walter Mondale, not Mike Dukakis and not John Kerry. Democratic Southerners Lyndon Johnson, Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton have done quite a bit better. Continues...

Obama harnesses power of Amnesia
As proof that 'front-runner' Barack Hussein Obama will finally be getting the hard questions from the press, the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz cited himself quoting a reporter from ABC News confronting Sen. Xerox recently with this staggering toughie: There's "an attempt by conservatives and Republicans to paint you as unpatriotic."
But even after this bloodcurdling exchange, the ABC News guy, Jake Tapper, wasn't through being barbaric to Obama! He complained to Obama that vicious conservatives keep pointing out that he doesn't wear a flag lapel pin, had met with the Weather Underground and now even 'question' Michelle Obama's overwhelming patriotism just because she said she had no pride in America until her husband started winning primaries.
Attempting to show the tide has turned against Obama in the media, the Center for Media and Public Affairs released a study on Monday claiming their study of election news on the broadcast networks indicate that pro-Obama bias has dropped to an all-time low of only over 67 percent. It used to be 80 percent, right after Obama's birth in a manger.
Even on the very day that Obama bagman Antoin Rezko went on trial in Chicago, the only press questions Obama got about it came from local Chicago reporters. Rezko got indicted for using his gigs on two state boards to extort millions of bucks in payoffs to enrich himself while fattening Obama and Gov. Rod Blagojevich's campaign coffers. The indictment of the Chicago Democrat consists of 8 federal counts, involving attempted extortion, kickbacks, assisting bribery, fraud and money laundering -- what is commonly known as 'behaving like a Chicago Democrat'.
Back in 2005, Obama, who styles himself as a champion of the middle class, was in the market for a mansion, as is typical of middle class champions, and bought one at a $300,000 discount ($1.65 million), while Rezko's wife bought the lot next to it at full price ($625,000) on the same day from the same seller. Obama maintains the same-day sale is just a coincidence and that he and the Rezkos were not in cahoots and the fact that he and Mr. Rezko took a tour of the mansion prior to the sale was simply another coincidence. A few months later, Obama's superior judgment led him to buy a slice of the adjoining Rezko lot at a time everyone knew Rezko was under federal criminal investigation, although Obama maintains he was one of the three people in all of Illinois who didn't know about it. Obama now calls the transaction a "bone-headed" move. Yes, let's give this guy the nuclear football.
The press heatedly denies Obama did anything wrong, citing as exculpatory evidence -- Obama! Obama says he's "confident that everything was handled above board and ethically," which is why Rezko is on trial.
But there are more coincidences. Financial records show Mrs. Rezko's assets totalled around $35k and her salary was a lame-o $37k, but she got the collateral for her big-bucks loan and $125,000 down payment from some Iraqi billionaire chap, Nadhmi Auchi, who has ties to that other Hussein -- Saddam. In the '70s, Auchi was a top honcho in Saddam's oil ministry and later his companies had dealings with Saddam's Oil for Food racket. Auchi now says he didn't know anything about Mrs. Rezko's real estate purchase, wasn't involved and can't recall knowing what his own business partner, Mr. Rezko, was doing with $3.5 million he loaned him a few weeks before Mrs. Rezko's real estate purchase. Auchi was convicted in France five years ago on corruption, so you can really take him at his word.
As part of his commitment to transparency and openness, Obama won't reveal how much money Rezko had bundled for him. Obama returned some $150,000 of Rezko connected donations after Rezko got indicted, because "there is no evidence of wrongdoing" here (Obama on Meet the Press last November).
More:
-- About $10,000 of the money Rezko extorted ended up in Obama's 2004 Senate campaign coffers, another coincidence.
-- According to court records, Rezko sought a high-ranking state post for the real estate agent who sold the mansion to Obama at the $300k discount, another coincidence!
Obama met with Auchi at the Four Seasons Hotel in Chicago in 2004 but Obama insists he can't recall the meeting now, can't recall why it took him more than a year to recall that he and Rezko had toured the mansion pre-purchase, can't recall why Rezko kept doing favors for him, can't recall why it took Mr. Superior Judgment years to peg Rezko as a sleazebag. I suspect Rezko figured that, to run for president as a Democrat, Obama needed a shady land deal.
According to lawyers in Chicago, Obama could still be called as a witness in the Resko trial and his name will pop up again and again but the New York Times is too busy trying to nail down whether John McCain is a natural-born American or delivered via C-section -- otherwise they would be all over Rezko! The press blows a gasket every time you say Obama's full legal name but insists you can't trust that McCain fella because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone.
The trial is expected to last until June, which is why Cackles may end up having the last laugh in Denver.
Anyway, that's...
My Two Cents...

John,
I love your writing style describing the libs,Cackles and not that Hussein. Great stuff! Where can I read more of your writings?
Thank you so much for the excellent wrap-up!
The clinton legal mantra of “can't recall” is sure made good use here by all parties involved.
It fairly screams Urkel's "Did I do that?" LOL
I always love your use of humor to put things in perspective, you need to be syndicated.

It's not only Chicago and IL Dems caught up in this.
Top leaders of the IL GOP are involved. One being Bob 'KJ' Kjellander. KJ is 'the Republican national committeeman in Illinois and was in charge of President Bush's re-election campaign in the Midwest' (1). KJ is also thick as thieves (best buds) with Karl Rove (2).
So while the MSM is at this point looking at Obama and Rezko - just wait. If it starts looking bad for 'the messiah' the focus will turn to the IL GOP crooks (3). You can take that to the bank.
(1) Chicago Tribune
(2) Rove and KJ 'conspired' as to who would be supported by the GOP. They scuttled every conservative and put RINOs on the ballot and 'we' got creamed. Rove is an ass.
(3) I'd actually do a dance if KJ gets indicted then sent off to prison. He and his cronies ruined the IL GOP just to line their pockets with ill gotten money.
Or a Clinton "Bag" man.
Very well written. You have earned the right to post under the pen name of MarkSteyn2.
Thanks, John! A classic! ............... FRegards
